Being Hungarian myself the food is pretty good considering. I had the goulash which was good. The potato pancake was pretty good maybe just a little on the heavy side. The chicken paprikash was really good but could have used a little more salt and personally I like more garlic I don’t think they even used any. All in all we will be back to try something else

Hearty, tasty and generous food. Unassuming atmosphere with kind servers and an all round great experience. We had the meat crepe, chicken paprikash, and the battered pork cutlet (puszta steak). Everything was tasty, saucy, and freshly cooked.

Hungarian food is a dying breed in many parts of the U.S. and the opportunity to enjoy a Hungarian meal should be cherished whenever possible. If you have not enjoyed a Hungarian meal, you need to change that as quickly as possible.

Cute little place just a bit out of downtown. Server was extremely friendly and gracious. Had goulash (I am used to more beef), chicken paprikash, and kremes (top was perfectly crispy, custard was eggy and just the right amount of sweet) for dessert. Look forward to going again next time we are in Pittsburgh to try more of the menu and a definite repeat on the kremes!

Sorry, the tort (chestnut, chocolate and cherry) was so good, we had taken a bite before I remembered to take a picture. The paprikas (both mushroom and chicken) was outstanding. A perfect dinner out for my true love and I.

We absolutely loved having lunch here. Stop by after visiting Randy Land and the owners were so amazing. She sat and talked with us going over the menu and telling us what would be the best sample of Hungarian dishes. Everything we had was delicious. We cannot wait to go back.

We loved the vibe. The food was very good, if a bit basic. The staff was great. We ordered pork and they brought chicken but we didn’t want to wait for another plate and we like chicken. Would do again!

What a terrific find in Pittsburgh. My wife and I were visiting and discovered this place through the HUGO app. I was born in Hungary and grew up on my mom’s Hungarian cooking. I can tell you, Huszar is top notch. Authentic Hungarian food presented the way Hungarians do it. The food is outstanding, the deserts are heavenly – especially the zserbő.

Warm and friendly ..like eating with family. We put our ordering in the hands of our server aka the pastry chef. Not disappointed! Portions are generous…took some of my meal home . Had room for dessert…you must try the chestnut torte!!

I specifically stopped here when in Pittsburgh recently so I could try Hungarian food — and I wasn’t disappointed! The soup, entree, and dessert were all delicious, and the service excellent. Thank you!
