It is very rare that we go to a restaurant that everything surpasses our expectations.
We have heard rave reviews from friends but were skeptical as how could a restaurant tick all the boxes – well they were right
The venue – high ceilings, spacious tables, comfy chairs and a spectacular view of the vineyards was our first impression.
The staff were warm, friendly, polished, knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing.
The presentation of the food – see the pictures -was spectacular. It was almost too good to eat but when we did eat the tastes were incredible. Fresh food is always a treat and each plate of food was incredible. The piece de resistance was the dessert, and our pictures don’t do justice
If I was to choose one restaurant in The Hunter I would say Hunters Quarter is number One. Do yourself a favor and try for yourself as I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

We came here for the second time last week and had another incredible experience. We did the 5 course degustation. It is one of those restaurants where every meal is absolutely delicious, even if eating something I wouldn’t usually like. The staff are great at their job and really topped off the ambience. The restaurant itself is such a beautiful spot, a table on the deck has such a lovely view. Also appreciated the birthday candle. It is all the little touches that make for an impeccable fine dining experience. Definitely recommend dining here!!

Great place for food after trying their wines. Restaurant was spacious, has great view of vineyards. Staff were friendly and attentive. Had their 3 course meal:
Kangaroo tartare
Wagyu steak
Treacle spong cake.
The kangaroo was nice, not gaimy, and the sauces complemented it well.
Steak was perfectly cooked and juicy.
Lastly the treacle dessert had some many elements that worked together. It was sweet, crunchy and nutty.

What an amazing fine dining experience to have a wonderful evening at Hunter’s Quarters. Picturesque setting, in the Hunter Valley, the 5 course degustation menu was utterly exquisite, the service was exceptional and staff just wonderful. We will definitely be returning to this incredible venue hopefully sooner rather than later.

From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with genuine warmth by the staff. The décor struck the perfect balance between modern sophistication and cosy Australian charm, making it an ideal spot for both a casual arvo bite and a special celebration.

The highlight, of course, was the meal itself. We had the degustation menu but we did have the choice of lamp or prawns for the main dish all of which were superb.

Definitely put Hunters Quarters on our go too list every time we travel to Pokolbin.

We ordered the $150 degustation menu with wagyu upgrade for $20 extra. Food was well presented but tasted poor, main dish was very salty, steak was tough for a medium rare wagyu steak. Most of our group only ate half of each course because of how salty things were. We found the combination of food did not complement each other at all.
We all enjoyed the cappacio and dessert.
Service was not great either, no one asked us if food was alright, especially when a few of us left courses half eaten.
Overall not a great experience, but the atmosphere was good, and food was presently nicely.

The food wasn’t bad but given the price, it wasn’t outstanding. Some more attention to menu development would be nice as there were no steak or fish options on the main menu, which was disappointing. The view and the service, however, couldn’t have been better.

We really enjoyed the 5-course degustation menu at Hunters Quarter, every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour. The standout courses for us were the Yellow Fin Tuna Carpaccio and the Smoked Duck Breast, duck cooked perfectly, both packed with taste.
We decided to add the Wagyu beef for an extra $20, but unfortunately, it was very average compared to the rest of the menu, hece 4 stars only. The wavy beef was a let down.

We had a sensational meal at Hunters Quarter. I booked it ages in advance as I knew this would be a special evening celebrating mine and my partners engagement and the restaurant exceeded expectations. The owner greeted us and congratulated us with some fizz which was absolutely lovely.

Then the food, oh my god. It was sublime. I had katifi wrapped king prawns and the lamb rack. The prawns were cooked perfectly, soft, juicy and really flavoursome. The lamb dish was an explosion of amazing tastes in your mouth, and the meat was cooked perfectly.

The menu was exceptional value considering the quality of the food, I cannot recommend Hunters Quarter more if you are visiting the area. It’s also set on a lovely vineyard setting.

Thank you so much!

Had a wonderful experience dining here for the first time on Saturday 7th March for lunch. Felt welcome from the moment we arrived. Service wasn’t pretentious like a lot of ‘fine dinning’ experiences we’ve had – which was really nice and welcome. Service was described as “smart casual” on arrival and was more of comforting and intelligent service. But I get saying that could come off pretentious…

Food was amazing. The degustation did not disappoint and it was hard for anyone at the table to pick a favourite dish. Wagu tri-tip was great. I’m a fan of duck and eat it out often – the duck here was excellent. Well balance accompaniments.

The entire meal was amazing from start to end. Well done. Will definitely be back and will be recommending to friends.
