Had dinner here last night. Service was very good, atmosphere comfortable and conducive to conversation. The venison meatballs were good, a little dry but very tasty with a slight bite to them. I had the steak and shrimp kabobs which were perfectly done and my husband had the fish sandwich and he loved it. I only wish they had coffee for after dinner but we’ll be back!

While the restaurant is still getting all the staff trained and they still have some finishing touches to finish (they said), I had a great experience. The food presentation was on point. The sizes were a little small but aren’t all fine dining restaurants! The food is locally sourced, mostly homemade in house and free of all the overly processed ingredients that you find at other places. This isn’t a fast food restaurant, it isn’t a chain, this is a small locally owned restaurant that offers a natural/clean way of eating. I will give them a try again in a few months when the rest of the finishing touches are done. Had the Venison Tempura Dolmas (fired in coconut oil), Smoked Fish Spread with homemade bread (ordered extra, it was so good), Fla Wild Boar Belly and Key Lime pie. Although I didn’t go to the bar area, it looked very nice and the Beer/Wine/Cocktail menu looked amazing. I visited on a Thurs. at 7pm and got a table right away. I found out, they have not done any advertising yet and are doing a “soft start” with a smaller menu to start and adding more items as they get everyone trained. I think this restaurant will be successful and give it a 10/10 knowing that they have more to offer in the weeks/months to come. They are a work in progress and thanks for bringing this restaurant to Fishhawk.

The owner of this place really knows what he’s doing when executing a new eating establishment! Although Hunt + Gather is somewhat in “beta” mode right now, their menu is very artfully crafted and I am beyond ecstatic to have them in the neighborhood.

Yesterday, I went here with my dad for a bitcoin meet up. I looked at the menu beforehand and was quite shocked when I saw that there was wild game. I love wild game and eat it all the time, so it was a pleasant surprise seeing a restaurant sell it. When I got there, I was in calming atmosphere with amazing staff. As soon at I sat down, someone asked me if I wanted a drink and I got myself a fancy cola. I was also able to try some of the appetizers which were the perfect little bite before my meal. I ended up ordering the boar belly and OMG IT WAS AMAZING. It was so juicy and paired well with the plantains. The sweet and salty combo kept me coming back for more bites. To finish off the night, I got the smoked brownie. I absolutely demolished it. The texture was fudge like and extremely chocolatey!! Through out my time there, I was able to chat with the staff and I had a great time. I will definitely be coming back. It made the hour and 15 minute drive worth it!!

Our first visit and not the last! Staff was attentive and polite. Very unique menu with amazing locally sourced food. We had the perch fish sandwich and the smash burger with sides fried plantains and sweet potato fries. Everything was outstanding.

Haven’t tried the food yet but the menu has some great options. The bar area is pretty cool, the drinks are good, and the bartenders are great. Planning on returning for the food!

Great concept! Finally made it out to try this place and we were not disappointed. We actually eat game 3 or 4 times a week so understanding tastes and textures helps. The bone marrow was great with the South African Shiraz. The smoked venison chops and locally sourced Picanha were both outstanding. Highly recommend this place. Atmosphere is upscale as are prices, but that’s what you pay for local and quality meat.

Delicious food, good atmosphere, great menu. Going to be a really nice staple for the area. Really cool bar as well. Very rare to see a restaurant without poisonous additives. Very exciting!

The only saving grace of this place was the service. Dinner for three plus two drinks per person and the bill came out to over $200. Honestly, way too expensive for food that was less than mediocre.
