I am always impressed with the service at Rock Island Hungry Hobo. I got off work today and ordered my #11 King sandwich for my husband and I to share. I am 7 miles away from this location and it was ready when I got there. I was greeted with a smile and prompt service. (This happens even when there is a long line of ordering customers). My sandwich is also very delicious!!!!!

Freshly baked bread for their sandwiches. Nice selection of hot and cold sandwiches with different sides for your order. Daily specials, as well. Our son goes to Augustana College nearby and we’ve been here a handful of times for lunch. Each time our food was great. Highly recommended. Enjoy!

Against my better judgment, I ordered a Hot Ruben, over the hobo combo. When I opened my sandwich, I had a sad sight. A less than warm sandwich on cold thick rye-ish wheat bread. Should I judge an entire restaurant on my experience with this Ruben? As I know other subs, and cheese fries are good I can’t write them off. Just pass on the “Hot Sandwichs.”

I can’t rate lower than one star but would if I could. Placed order in online. Got the store at the time and eight people were helped before they even started on my food. Taking care of customer orders after I came in and didn’t start on my order until ten minutes after arriving time. Will not return to this location ever again.
