If you want good food? Or a good, safe Saturday night out to karaoke? You go to Hunan. Like the graffiti in the woman’s bathroom says “Hunan isn’t a place, it’s a way of life”. No one is a better karaoke host than Larry! Hunan is sure to make any occasion feel special and welcome.

I didn’t think that I’d leave a five-star review, but the food was actually excellent. The ingredient quality was fantastic. All made to order. Lots of fresh veggies in flavorable sauces, not corn starch goo.

Met some friends there for karaoke. Didn’t feel like drinking alcohol so I just ordered a coke. So $7 for a can of Coke at the bar from the Asian guy. A bottle of beer is only four dollars BTW. And he wouldn’t print a copy of the receipt for me. Wonder why?

Service has been going downhill for a while now but today was ridiculous. I was blatantly ignored. After waving me to a table I was 100% ignored. She even walked by with menus, I asked for one (she definitely heard me) and AGAIN WAS IGNORED. You lost a customer for good. I will never be treated like that again!

Had lunch there last week, love their food; however, I ordered deep fried prawns appetizer and they were so crunchy and the prawns were almost completely dried up to where there wasn’t a prawn in there, LOL

Paper wrapped chicken; ever had it? I love it. Nice, quiet place to eat. Wonderful lunch menu. Great Hot and Sour soup! My favorite place for Kung Pau Chicken!

I should have followed my instincts and left before we ordered. Besides the Lazy Susan appetizers being cold the Chicken Chow Mein was only warm along with the Pork Fried Rice. Even my cup of Hour & Sour soup was luke warm though its spice level alluded to better meals. The service was exceptionally slow given that there were only five parties in the dining area and the take-out table remained empty. The men’s bathroom was disgusting which is where I first stopped on my way in. We won’t be back.

We visited Hunan Palace because I was having a nostalgic craving for almond fried chicken and a Google search showed it on their menu. I ordered the combination plate that comes with almond chicken and sweet and sour pork. The almond chicken was OK, but not as good as I remember it from the distant past. It might have been better if they hadn’t left out the almonds. If your preference in Chinese food is the highly Americanized Cantonese style that was popular in the 1960s, you will probably enjoy Hunan Palace.
