A unassuming northern Thai restaurant that looks like a reaidence from the outside. The flavora are bold, unique and unlike most Thai places in the city. Frog legs were meaty with dipping sauce. Crispy fish, pork, tender beef all with good amount of heat. Great authentic food, good portions, must try!

With the exception of the mok nor mai (steamed pork belly + bamboo shoots), I really wanted to love this place more. Very few things got the party-in-my-mouth feeling started, not the least the nam khao tod. The rice was too crispy and overall, the salad did not bring me joy the way a well-executed one does. The Larb Ped had some momentum, but again, not super exciting. The Hug Esan papaya salad didn’t rise to the occasion, either. I wonder if we just didn’t order the right things b/c I saw that the customers around us all ordered the grilled chicken and other grilled meats. ‍♀️

This is my most favorite northern Thai food in the city, really authentic and tasty with reasonable price. If you want some spicy don’t miss this one.

5 of us came here on a holiday (Memorial Day) and got a lot of dishes to share! We got two types of papaya salad and enjoyed both. The steamed fish was definitely a highlight! The fish was so fresh and the sauces that came with it was amazing. The service was wonderful and the owner (I think) talked to us about the food and how to enjoy the food properly.

One of the best Thai restaurants in NYC. This restaurant focuses on northern Thai food which you often do not fine. Therefore you will not see the typical Tom yum soup or pad Thai. Instead, signature dishes are in there signature Tom zap soup, fried fish, and papaya salad. They have a variety of papaya salads with my fav being the one with salted egg yolk. Recommend ordering the set for best bang for buck and sharing. Set gets you an appetizer or soup, protein entree, and sticky rice.

The best “papaya salad “ feels like home. This place is under rated probably because of their size of the restaurant but trust me this place is hidden germs in Queen of Esan Thai food.

Some of the most authentic Thai food NYC has to offer. You know you’re getting good Thai food when you’re the only non-Thai person there. Highly highly recommend ordering the Larb Pla, a crispy tilapia served with fresh veggies and sticky rice. The flavor was phenomenal, with the sauce being the best company to the fried fish – tangy, sweet, spicy, and an immense umami of the fish sauce. And remember to munch on every single piece of that crunchy tilapia (yes, even the small little bones)

It’s a hidden gem for Thai authentic food. I enjoyed every dishes I tried here. But larb pla and pork crepe are my go-to dishes, I ordered it everytime I eat here. I would definitely come back! However, the location is more of a small shop, sometimes you might not find a table. Take out or ubereats is good as well.

I loved everything we ordered. The Som Tum Thai is just as good as the ones I’ve had in Thailand. The pork bbq was excellent; tender and full of flavor. I’ll definitely be back to try their other som tum offerings and lunch specials.
