This was our first time trying House of Pancakes, and let’s just say–the name is definitely misleading in the best way. While you might expect a traditional breakfast spot, this cozy, mom-and-pop-style restaurant serves up hearty Northern Chinese dishes packed with flavor.

We came with a large group of extended family and were impressed with how accommodating and friendly the staff were. They even made thoughtful dish recommendations based on our group size and preferences, which made the experience even better.

We ordered quite a bit to share:

Beef Pancakes (a house specialty)
Lamb Skewers (spicy and non-spicy)
Lamb Dumplings
Pork Dumplings
Lamb Stir-Fried Hand-Pulled Noodles
Fresh Cucumber Salad

Overall, the food was delicious and flavorful. That said, if you’re not a fan of lamb (like me), just be aware that the lamb skewers and dumplings can be a bit gamey. The spicy skewers helped mask it a bit, thanks to a generous sprinkle of paprika.

Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the lamb stir-fried noodles–the lamb in that dish was melt-in-your-mouth tender and tasted more like beef than lamb to me. Unfortunately, I couldn’t try the beef pancakes due to dietary restrictions, but my cousins absolutely loved them and said they were a must-order.

The pork dumplings were a standout for me–juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. And the cucumber salad was refreshing and balanced everything out nicely.

The restaurant has a small, casual diner vibe that gives it local charm–nothing fancy, but welcoming and perfect for sharing a flavorful meal with family or friends.

Local, low-key, friendly staff, cash only.
Good hand-pulled noodles, beef pancakes/rolls, handmade chewy dumplings. Yes! We want all of them.
Cash only -and you will have lots of food and change afterwards.

I randomly walked past here and decided to come in. The environment is about average. It’s pretty clean, but you can tell that it’s a little old and definitely not fancy .
The owner was super friendly to me and she recommended me the two pancake that I ordered.
The pork pancake I got was really good. For the price is really big portion. And it was fresh out of the pan, so it was extremely hot, and there are also some meat juice inside.
The roll beef pancake was also very good. It has some green onions in the inside, which was a kick.
I don’t seem to find these kind of restaurants a lot in the city . So it’s a surprise to me.
I recommend visit here .

House of Pancakes was one of the coziest & tastiest meals I’ve had in recent memory. The garlic green beans and the beef roll pancake were the most notable items for sure. So tasty!! The hand-pulled noodles were good as well, especially on a rainy day. The garlic green The food is what earned the five stars here.
The service and ambiance were alright. I wouldn’t say either were notable. It took me a few tries to flag down a server to get water, but they were quick with the tea and with the food! Overall, I’d definitely come back here!

I recommend their pulled noodles. Two of us shared tender rib hand pulled noodle soup and the lamb pulled noodles stir fry style and also got a beef pancake as an appetizer. It was all delicious. The portions were huge so we ended up saving most of the stir fry for take out. You can watch in the back kitchen area where they hand pull the noodles for prepping and the noodles are very yummy.

One thing to mention is this a cash only establishment, but there is a Bank of America one block over if that works for you. Otherwise have cash on hand. Also, the restaurant isn’t very big, so expect to wait during peak times. You can check yelp, to place yourself on a waitlist. All in all this is a great restaurant and I highly recommend it.

Found this after short walk at golden gate park. When we arrived and look inside we had doubt if the food is good. The interior is kind of old and not that clean. Actually the food is really good and price is very considered low. The hand-pulled noodle is good. Beef pancake is a bit oily because it is fried. Pork and chive dumpling is good. Hand-pulled noodle can be with soup or stir fry. It is cash only

Super super solid place just make sure you come earlier for dinner and also use less force when you open the door since I almost slammed it open. We got here on a Tuesday night with 6 and were seated immediately but so many people filed in after us!

Food: We got 9 dishes for 6 people and the favorites were the beef roll pancake, the hand pulled beef noodles, and the chive and pork dumplings! I loved the solid portions of food and the crispy flavor of the pancakes. The noodles were a little bland but still good!

Service: The waiters here are so nice! One guy who we assume was the manager stuck up conversation with us easily.

Ambiance: It’s definitely more casual but a small cramped space.

Overall, loved the food and experience and would come again! Cheap too.

The beef roll pancake was SO GOOD. Definitely coming back here, just for that.

The veggie dumpling was okay (would not get again) and the rib hand pulled noodles was also delicious.

Note: cash only!

The House of Pancakes is a small restaurant and you’ll likely find yourself sitting directly behind another chair or table, but everyone respects their space. In the end, we are all there for the same thing — to enjoy the hand pulled noodles, savory pancakes and all other varieties of delicious dishes.

One of the dishes that stood out to all of us were the green beans and garlic. Stir fried simply and to perfection. Also, I recommend ordering the more flavorful sesame pancake in place of the standard pancake. The sesame seeds add an extra nuttiness to the pancake.

The staff is friendly, the food wa served quickly and the place was clean. Parking can be a tad difficult to find, especially during peak hours.
