Food of CT
When I say our taste buds died and went to heaven at Hot Taco, I mean it!! First of all, let me just say how impressed I am by their tacos. I recently went somewhere that charged the same price as here for a single taco, and the other place’s tacos were so skimpy. Hot Taco’s are EXACTLY what I’m looking for – you could barely even fold the taco in half because there was so much inside! The menu is creative, and the street food flare is so cool. I absolutely loved the Mac and cheese, which sounded like it was going to be spicy, but actually was just so flavorful. The Brussels were amazing too, and I think it’s awesome that they have California style burritos, because those aren’t easy to find around here! The flavor of the month rotation for their churros is so fun, and I know they’ll continue to add creative options onto this menu. For only a month open in their brick and mortar location, and having it be primarily takeout, we were impressed at how busy they were for a Wednesday night! The food came out quickly, and everyone was so nice here. I’m so happy for them and wish them continued success!

I’ve been wanting to try Hot Taco since they opened and finally had a chance to catch them at The Bar on Cedar tonight…everything was beyond amazing. You can tell they put so much thought & quality ingredients into their food and their service is incredible. I can’t wait to visit their main spot in Cromwell & I’m definitely going to hire them to cater an event in the future because their food really is that good!

Great local Taco / Mexican dishes. As their Tag Line says, Tacos without Tradition, their Taco options are great. I had the Smash Burger Taco 4oz smashed burger, shrettuce, fried onion, American Cheese and house “animal” sauce – very good, tantalizing favors. Next, i had the Crispy Fish Taco, tempura battered haddock, pine apple salsa, picked red cabbage, and chipotle aioli. It was as tasty as it sounds. Food truck availability and loved the crowd, paintings and casual seating options.

Had these tacos for the first time on the 4th of July from their truck. Delicious! Loved the Birria tacos so much found where the restaurant was located.. went the other day, still good, but not as good as the first time. The Beef they put in my taco had a lot of fat on a few pieces it was chucky as supposed to shredded, sauce didn’t have that heat kick wow factor to it, the staff has a dry personality nothing you would want to run in there to. Maybe they were all having a bad day. But come to think about it, the food truck staff was the same way, no smiles, no laughs, no enjoyment for what they do… kind of blah.. but with that all being said, I still ate the tacos, so I guess that’s all that matters. Little pricey $14.00 for two tacos.

Been fans of these guys since following their food truck at Gastropark. My wife and I recently grabbed dinner from their Cromwell location and was blown away. The prices can add up but its definitely worth it depending on what you get. Im a big fan of their speciality tacos, but the chopped cheese torta special was for sure a memorable experience. The bread was toasted perfectly and the toppings were stacked. Depending on the ingredients, some of tacos can become a little soggy. But overall, I would recommend Hot street taco to anyone who wants a unique taco dining experience.

Upon walking in we saw the person who takes the orders, the menu was on a tv behind her or on a piece of paper in front of the register. We had to ask how we do this, as there is no table service. The only beverages they offer are Foxon Park sodas in bottles and water in bottles. There are strips of high chairs around two separate bar areas and one sofa to sit on. Scene set.

Love your food. What y’all do with tacos is unmatched in CT. But, if you’re going to post that you’re open until 8pm, don’t stop taking orders at 7pm (aka turn off online ordering, stop answering your phone, AND hang up on us while we’re calling). Maybe just also post that you stop taking orders at 7pm. Just a thought. Birthday tacos after a 10hour shift, on a Saturday, ruined. Thanks Hot Taco!

I want to give Hot Taco 5 stars. The food is excellent. Fantastic. Some of the best burritos and tacos I’ve ever had. Thank you all, for that.

We got a bunch of things to try, and it was a mixed bag. The BLT taco and fish taco were both very good. The brussel sprouts were also tasty. The Cali beef burrito and Korean BBQ burrito were huge, but they had way too much meat. I appreciate that they were stuffed, but the ratio of meat to other flavors was a bit off. It felt like I was just eating a tortilla + meat without much nuance to the flavors. It was also quite expensive. Overall I’d go back for the tacos, and I hope to try the churros soon!
