Hopdoddy’s burger bar at The Rim shopping center is one of two in San Antonio, situated on the northeast side of I-10 and E Charles William Anderson Loop. Conveniently located right next to Santikos Palladium and near Target, Bass Pro Shops, and more, Hopdoddy is the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat whether you’re running errands or about to catch a movie. Probably my favorite burger spot in town. Especially if I want a regular thickness burger instead of a smash, this is the place (though their newest smash burger is also great!). They always get the doneness just right, the patty has a delicious flavor, the salad is fresh. Never had a single bad or even “just okay” burger here.
I usually go for The Classic, can’t go wrong there and I always love it. But they have so many different creative dishes, and every month they bring out another special. At some point before Easter, we tried their Captain Caviar fish sandwich and it was delicious too.
We’ve been here quite a few times at this point and we always (!!) get the parmesan truffle fries, it’s a must. We recently noticed their house lemonades, and now I hope they never stop making the ginger lemonade, that drink is just incredible. Ever since my first time trying it, I never went back to the fountain sodas.
The price is a little high, but for the quality of the food and the service we get, it has been super worth it to go occasionally. It’s a nice place to hang out with friends, catch up, chat after a movie, and just take your time savoring the food. I love the relaxed atmosphere.

First time visiting this establishment. It reminded me of another high-end burger place. The order process is simple and straight forward at the front counter. Basically, a burger, fries (which can be shared), and drink will run you about $25. Once the order is ready, it brought to your table via a table numbering system.
The burgers are good and tasty, I’m just not use to paying so much for a burger. The fries tasted a little over air fryer cooked. They are like shoestring fries with salt.
There is outside seating.
Parking can be difficult, but most people park near the theater or across the street.
Rated food at 4 stars because of price and the fries could be better.

First time here. The burgers are flavorful! The bacon is delicious. The fries are drool worthy. The shakes are vibing!! Those hilarious chicken looking drumsticks are pretty good. The whole experience is definitely memorable! Will definitely be back.

Wonderful chain. Experience and food is super consistent. Price point is a bit higher but worth it in my opinion. I got the curry chicken sandwich which was amazing. Definitely messy but so good. The fries with queso are amazing and it’s a lot so definitely enough to share with friends and family. Great place to go to with friends.

Service was above average than other places with the added touch of seeing a manager In site who actually interacts with the guests. Normally, I do not agree with too much of a variation on hamburgers, but this spot’s twists on burgers are simple enough while taking the burger to a higher level. The meat was definitely higher quality, but they are still greasy enough. The sweet potato fries were good. While the regular fries are fresh cut and tasty, they were the weak link. In my opinion, they were too thin for being able to properly prepare and fry. While this trip was with the family, I think it would be a great spot to go out for some burger and beers with just the grown-ups.

I’m getting really tired of the decline in thoughtfulness and outcomes here! My wife is Celiac, meaning precautions have to be followed, and our food must come out the way we ordered it, we ordered for delivery, so I called ahead of time, for the establishment to be aware, the individual (young lady) that answered on 11/10 assured me she heard our order and would tell the cooks to take proper precautions. The end result is that we got an incorrect order even after going out of our way to advise them…

From the moment we sat down, everything was top-tier.
Vince was our server, and he took care of us extremely well. He was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without us even having to ask. His customer service honestly made the whole experience even better.
The food was absolutely incredible — fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Every bite was on point. Definitely a 10/10!

My husband and I shared the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and the Good Night/Good Cause. Both were good but the GN/GC was so much tastier. A better option for chicken is their Crispy Chicken Bacon Ranch.

So my honey wanted to try this place & I wasn’t too keen on it since last time I ate at a Hopdoddy was back in 2018/2019 at a different location in SA, at that time the burger wasnt that good and was way overpriced. I will tell you truthfully that coming here after so many years, it REALLY hit the spot for both of us. Those truffle fries were unforgettable and Steven B. was the kindest, funniest and most helpful person we could have ever asked for! Truly a great experience overall & definitely a reformed Hopdoddy fan. We will be back soon & absolutely recommend trying the truffle fries.
