We used to love coming here! Service was great, and the views are amazing. But this time, the hot food just seemed lacking something…. The salad bar was terrific. The smoked ribs seemed burnt, though the meat under the surface was tasty. I remember a larger selection before, and I thought they used to have a wonderful dessert bar and soft serve ice cream. Only small cups of vanilla ice cream were available, and those aren’t our favorite. We loved the banana pudding and bread pudding desserts. When we are in town, we will come back to see how it evolves again.

We had a great view at the homestead harvest restaurant yesterday. We came for the Easter Brunch. The facility was very nice. A bit rustic but well appointed. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

I was so excited to actually find a place that had a salad bar!!! When I was growing up (in the 80s and 90s), every Sunday after church, as well as any special occasion was spent at a restaurant with a great salad bar. You just can’t find those anymore! The greens were fresh and crisp and the toppings were full even though we were there an hour before closing. The bar was clean and maintained the entire time we were there. We were there on a Thursday and every day has different food on the bar. I got the chicken, which was delicious and white beans. My mom had mashed potatoes with gravy, chicken and white beans and she said that all of hers was good. For dessert I had bread pudding and banana pudding. The bread pudding was awesome, but I wouldn’t get the banana pudding again. It had very little pudding, lots of bananas and lots of wafers. It just wasn’t my favorite. The ladies who were working were all super nice and helpful. It’s a beautiful location.

A wonderful hometown styled buffet, the staff is super friendly, and parking is ample. Food selections change nightly on the buffet, and they do offer a la carte options .

As part of the Cumberland State Park, this eatery is a nice place to have a good meal with an excellent view of the lake. The salad bar was good, the buffet was ok and the dessert was better. They were serving grilled chicken and meatlof with creamed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese and rice. There was banana pudding (very good) and blackberry cobbler with a side of ice cream in a lil plastic tub, if you know what I mean. There was ample traffic but no wait, the service was prompt and continual, the building was clean and well maintained, we will probably stop in here again when we are on this area. If you desire a new place to visit or revisit a nice state park, I recommend this park for it’s unique appeal!
