Busy Fathers Day so we used the online line wait list and found 172 minute wait. At that wait time I was expecting something good and we were not disappointed. Our waitress was prompt and polite. The made from scratch kitchen was able to handle the pressure of a packed house and we received our food promptly. Couple of small things keep me from going 5 stars across.

Loved their tea, coffee and soup. Super cute restaurant. Slightly underwhelmed with the actual breakfast omelet. Might return to try different items to ensure that my plate was just a fluke.

I love breakfast restaurants and was so excited to try this place. The atmosphere is great, very clean, well decorated, and I like that they sell KC made items. I wish I could say it was a good experience, but the customer service was lacking across the restaurant at several tables. I ordered the veggie omelet with whole grain toast and was brought a meat lovers omelet with a biscuit. My daughter ordered a blueberry lavender lemonade, and it was so sweet and concentrated. She had to water it down considerably. The food was decent, but not impressive, for the price. Service wise, our waitress was super sweet but disappeared after the food came out. I had to settle my ticket at the hostess stand due to the lack of customer service. I would come back and try again, since they are new. Unfortunately, overall, I was dissatisfied with this experience.

Nice time . Good Service . I made the mistake of salting my eggs before tasting the the seasoned potatoes and bacon. Both were pretty salty and the eggs would have cut that salt. Tasty but too Salty. Coffee was Very Good .

So glad to have this restaurant option out in the neighborhood. I enjoyed a nice weekday brunch with the family and Home Grown was the perfect spot. The service was excellent, the decor was light and airy, and the food was perfect. We are looking forward to returning in the near future.

Too bad their marketing and advertising don’t match their service. I was excited to try this place, but I would never return. Apparently Stephanie hates her job or maybe just didn’t want to serve US.

Second time at the new HomeGrown KC! Overall a decent experience despite being busy (make sure you leverage the Yelp wait list). The staff was friendly and polite, the food tasty, and the atmosphere lively.

Wow. If this was my first experience with homegrown I would never be back. I have been to the Wichita and the KCMO location and I love both of them. This is hands down my favorite breakfast joint in Kansas City but unfortunately this Leawood location needs a lot of work. I understand that this restaurant opened 16 days ago but the staff still needs a lot of training including service and follow up. When we we’re finally sat it took about 10 minutes for the server to come to our table, and another 40 minutes to get our food. We requested the coffee cake to come before the food and it did not arrive until after the food was dropped. Speaking of our food, apparently the food had been sitting so long my eggs were actually cold not even room temperature. Potatoes were cold and sausage was room temperature. My wife’s omelette was also cold, we let the kids eat their order because they were starving from the wait. The server that helped with the replacement order and brought out our coffee cakes after we asked where our food was wasn’t even the server that additionally took over it, and she never even came back. To top it off A 6 top table sat after us and left before us. Breakfast shouldn’t take 2 hours! may try this location again but probably not for a while. I’d rather drive the extra 10 mins to go to KCMO and probably even Wichita.

So happy that they opened a branch here in Leawood! Came with 2 kids and extended family for a party of 6, didn’t wait long as we joined the online waitlist, and despite having a large party, wait times for our food were minimal. Service, just like at Brooksode, was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the coffee cake and the poptarts to start, and the coffee cake was still steaming since it was fresh out of the oven. The caramel drizzle was the bomb!
