Holy Smoke! This place is amazing. The Brisket is the go-to for sure…hands down. But if it’s your first time, try to get a sample of all the meats. All the meat is fall apart goodness, smoked just right with amazing flavour. If you need more flavour, add some delicious sauce. For the sides, there’s no bad sides but I do prefer their coleslaw, refreshing and crunchy.

Honestly, this might be the best BBQ I’ve had in the city. The food was delicious, real southern and the portion sizes were super generous.
Moorthy was awesome. Really friendly guy, super helpful, and even took a minute to explain how they smoke their food. Everyone there was just genuinely pleasant, and you can tell they really care about the quality and the service they are giving.
Definitely coming back soon. Highly recommend!

Everyone got the brisket and rib combo. Brisket was good, good amount of fat. Ribs were a bit dry.. Both sauces provided were really sweey. The jalapeno cheddar sausage was really good! I usually dont like sausages but this one was unique and flavorful.
Sides:
Mac n Cheese was good, if you like your mac on the saucy side youll like it.
Cornbread was good, good size, I do prefer my cornbread sweeter but it was still good.
Potato salad wasn’t my favorite, had strong dill flavor which I’m not a fan of so I might be bias.

Their food was spectacular and bussin! They gave a free sample of their brisket and it blessed my mouth. I can imagine the taste as I smack my lips rn.
I got a platter for 4 and baby back ribs. The meat was very tender and I wanted all of it!! The amount of sides they gave were also very generous.

At first glance, this restaurant looks very simple and ordinary — even when you walk in, everything seems quite basic. But wow, the food quality was amazing! The portions were large, and the service was truly excellent.
A friend suggested we go for dinner, and when we checked, they were open until 9:30. We called ahead since we would arrive around 9, and they were perfectly fine with it. Two gentlemen and one lady served us, and they were so polite, friendly, and patient that it made our experience even better. And the food… absolutely delicious!
The special side sauces they gave us were incredible. We bought three types, and because it was our first time there, they gave us two more for free without charging us. The sauces were so good that they made us even more eager to eat. The pork, and chicken and wings were all perfectly cooked — tender, juicy, and crispy in the best way.
You can choose your side dish like potato salad or salad or whatever
We ordered the two-person package which was $75, but honestly it could feed three people easily. Everything was so good that my friend went back the next week with other friends — and I’ll definitely be going back soon too!

This past Saturday, my wife, my friends, and I hit up an incredible spot. Chef Moorthy truly delivered! The food was absolutely phenomenal—especially the brisket, which was unbelievably tender and juicy. The ribs? They were pure perfection, truly fall-off-the-bone. Even the sides were standouts; the potato salad and beans were seriously good. I can’t recommend this place highly enough!

Called ahead and was told my takeout would be ready in 5 minutes, but when I arrived 15 minutes later they only started preparing the order after I gave my name again.
I watched the brisket being dipped back into sauce before weighing, using a scale with grease and food residue from previous orders.
There was no clear separation of meats, knives, boards, or gloves, which is concerning for cross-contamination.
The chicken wings were extremely dry and tasted pre-cooked or reheated.
The “premium” brisket was tough, dry, and relied heavily on sauce to mask the texture.
Overall, very poor execution for a place claiming Central Texas BBQ.

This place is truly untouchable in terms of reliable and consistent Sandwiches and other smoke related accompaniments. I’ve been here a couple of times and every time I am totally amazed at the quality. I wouldn’t say that it’s super cheap but definitely worth the money and you get a lot for your money. I just picked up a turkey sandwich which was at least an inch and a half thick on a soft brioche bun and their killer sauce. I couldn’t even finish it. It was so generous portion. I like their baked beans. They are truly authentic rather than coming from a can. The place has an amazing smoke smell that is intoxicating. I can’t say the decor is anything special but the food is definitely top-notch and very consistent. I used to religiously go to a place called Phils on college Street, but that closed down. The only thing this place is lacking is a really really killer plate of french fries. But the rest of the meat more than compensate for it. For sure, my favorite is the turkey. It is not dry and it is super flavorful. I found that all the employees there are really amazingly nice. The manager and I had a long conversation about how expensive food has gotten how difficult it is in the restaurant business but truthfully, this place seems to run out oftheir smoke product daily so you have to get there before the rush. All in all I can’t complain about the food or the service. It’s a good thing. They are closer because I’d end up eating here at least once a week.

Judging only one item (brisket sandwich) but this place is outstanding. Kind of a dive bar vibe, which is exactly what I want in this kind of place. They have a sink to wash your hands right in the middle of the place. That makes excellent sense.
Very fair value; no gouging, friendly staff. Looking forward to coming back and trying more things on the menu.
The holy smoke sauce is excellent.

1. Would be good if the bun was lightly buttered and crisped on a flat top. Then put pickles against the crisp and put sauce on the meat instead of the bun. I know that may not be textbook BBQ perhaps but that’s just my point of view
2. Get a janky sign for out front lit by bulbs instead of backlit. The neon in the window is fine but the main sign looks too modern and cookie cutter. Doesn’t do justice to the rest of the vibe in this joint

Holy Smoke is a great spot for anyone who loves authentic Texas style BBQ. The food is delicious and cooked perfectly. The ribs are tender, the brisket is juicy, and the sausage had a snap!
The service was quick and welcoming. The owner and staff were very friendly and had great recommendations to share. Huge shoutout to Moorthi for an amazing food experience!
