In town today from Scottsboro Alabama. Google reviews led me here. Either lots of people have no palate or sense for quality well prepared foods or these reviews are solicited. Meatloaf was cold in the center with cold ketchup poured on top. Sweet tea and unsweetened tea were identical. Stuffing was from a box in the chicken and dressing. Chicken was dry and leathery and tasted like it was from a can. Homemade pies are at best Marie Calendars and came out cold hard and nearly frozen. They didn’t even take the liberty to microwave or warm the pies and the meatloaf. Sweet rolls were sourdough, dry and chewy, not soft or sweet. Maybe it was an off day here, maybe not. My ticket for two plates and drinks was over $50 after adding two slices of cheap pie and cold meatloaf to our C&D plates. I asked to speak with the owner twice and when he finally came out he walked right by us and never returned. After waiting another 30 minutes we respectfully left our plates sitting as photographed and left without causing a scene. Feel free to ignore an honest review and roll the dice. Everyone has different tastes and opinions.

Got an order to go tonight and i gotta say im disappointed. The service was good and the girl that took my order was very nice but the only good part of the food was the banana pudding. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries for me and my little girl and my girfriend got a kids chicken strip with potato wedges and an order of fried green tomatoes. Both of the burgers were chewy and didnt have much flavor, and all the fried stuff had a weird taste. My daughter loves fries and usually eats enough to pop but barely ate one of them. Usually we have a good experience but not this time.

The food was good. The problem was that I asked the cashier what came on the mushroom Swiss burger? She said, mushrooms, cheese and whatever you want on it. I asked for mayonnaise and ketchup. I The girl brought it to the table with onions. I am allergic to onions, I told her. She replied that if she took it back, the manager would make her pay for it. The person who brought me there for my Birthday ended up eating it and I took hers. I was a waitress before, and I have never heard of something like this

I love this place and the staff and owners are so sweet. Best fried chicken EVER! And this from a person who is not a big fan of Southern food. Our favorite part is Monday night bingo. My daughter begs to go every Monday! Their rolls, fried okra and fries are also some of my favorites. I bet their burgers are amazing but I can’t seem to get away from the fried chicken! Delicious!

Food has been really good. Love the Bacon Egg burger and the chicken.My only issue is that it needs to be better kept inside and outside. Needs a good cleaning and freshing up a bit. I know it’s an older building but it was kept clean with previous owners. Unfortunately being tall I can see into the kitchen which I feel needs a good cleaning as well.

The burgers, service and atmosphere were good. Ice cream was decent. Sides were ok. The chess pie was by far the worst I’ve ever had The fountain drinks and sweet tea were no good.

This was my second visit to Holt’s diner.
I had the fried chicken 2 piece dark meat plate. It came with 1 side and a roll. I had the potatoes and gravy. The fried chicken was very good. The leg piece was very tiny, but the thigh was regular size. The breading was very good, and seasoned well. They also have hand scooped ice cream, and milk shakes.

Stop off yesterday to grab something quick to eat. Kind of figured I’d give this little diner a shot. Over all I was surprised, The place has a nice atmosphere in over all the food was pretty good. And overall the service was really good.
