I had the brisket sandwich with fries & it was cooked to perfection. Service was a bit slow, but I’ll never complain about getting a fresh, home cooked meal.
Def give them a try.
Apparently if you want to try the meatloaf you have to get there before dinner, it was gone when we arrived at 5 PM. Next time, for ! Kudos to the staff, management & owners for some very satisfying food in a nice homey atmosphere! We’ll come again.
Recently our mother passed away and you guys assisted in providing delicious trays to the gathering.
Your BBQ is the BEST -this side of Texas- as far as I am concerned!
I’ve eaten ribs from all over the world and Europe as well the U.S. and you guys have the technique down to a special science.
I appreciate you and will be returning as a patron!
Always,
The family of Macey Thomas,
TJ Kechula (daughter)
It is by no means a fancy place. It’s more of a down home country establishment, with everything one would expect. So if that’s what you like, this is your spot. I enjoy BBQ, but do not have it all that frequently. As such, I tend to enjoy it more when I have it. I had a really good brisket sandwich and fries. It was really good. It was reasonably priced.
It was fairly quiet when we visited. Sometimes it pays to avoid the busy times. The staff were all very nice and made our visit enjoyable. Hog wild country cafe is really about the BBQ, but they offer a variety for folks who may not want BBQ. They did tell us that they do not offer the steaks at lunch time. But they have other items besides BBQ for lunch.
As I said earlier, they are kind of like a Cracker Barrel, so things decorate the walls and ceiling, with many for sale. There is available back porch seating if you so choose. And it looks like there is an area out back for larger country events.
Hog wild country cafe is just a nice country place that fits the bill for me. It’s not in a crowded city environment. Folks get to be comfortable in comfortable clothes. And there’s lot’s of fun stuff to check out a purchase if you so choose. Then add the fact that the food is very good and a fair price. It’s all that I need, without a lot of the things that I don’t at a lot of other eateries.
I don’t give out five stars all that often. But the combination of the food and atmosphere just works for me. So five stars it is. Without a doubt, I will be back.
You can tell they have totally revamped the entire building for a more modern design very stylish yet still comfortable.
Our server recommended the beef tips and they were cooked to perfection with just enough seasoning, meat was very tender, the rice was cooked well also (which is hard to find). The corn muffins were just a great balance of sweetness and savory. Must try in my opinion. My daughter had the pulled pork was very tasty not holding a lot of grease and fat which made it perfect for her. The meat to bread ratio was a perfect balance and the fries were to die for! Best fries I’ve had in a very long time.
Did I mention the cost was about what you would spend eating fast food!
Whatever you order you wouldn’t b disappointed!
The place was clean, staff was/ is friendly, service was GREAT , Bathrooms were clean. The whole atmosphere was a great experience. If you’re ever in the area PLEASE STOP BY FER SUM GOOD VITTLES !
Melissa took great care of us. She advised us on what to get.
We started with the Cowboy Eggrolls. They were great. I would order a few of them and make a meal out of it with their ranch dipping sauce.
Our son had the Prime Rib Sandwich with Fries. He loved it. Said, it was the best sandwich – EVER!
We shared the 3 Meat Sampler w/Beef Brisket, Smoked Sausage & Smoked Turkey. Sides – Mac + Cheese, Onion Rings. Great stick to your ribs food!!! We used their BBQ and Mustard Sauces along with the Ranch Sauce. Really good.
Don’t want to forget about the house made Sweet Tea.
Then to top it off we had the Marshmallow Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cake. WOW!!! FANTASTIC!!!
What a great dinner!
Next time we will try the Ribs.
We will definitely be back.
Great Job, Melissa!!!
This is one of those places where everything is so good that you don’t know what to order.
Our waitress only came by to drop food off and was gone the rest of the time. The brisket was country ham salty and inedible! I told the waitress and she seemed confused by it but after 10 minutes finally brought the sour cream and BBQ sauce I requested which helped.
Whoever is smoking the brisket needs to hold back on the salt A LOT. I won’t ever order anything smoked here again. Disappointed in this meal for sure. Tony, pay attention to the smoker, please.
