Great bourbon and rye whiskey selection. The bartenders make a good old fashioned. I haven’t had any food here before, but the atmosphere and vibe are great.

Great bar and grill just off the corner from Metairie Road. Huge selection of top shelf liquor, the really good stuff. Great place to grab a few beers as well. Large bar with a spacious room in the rear if you bring a crowd and a nice outdoor enclosed courtyard with tables and a big screen TV. Lots of TVs inside normally tuned to sports. Good food in large portions, great burgers and bar food, but you can get steaks and such as well. Great staff. Very comfortable, especially during the day, but often packed at night.

An otherwise nice experience overshadowed by the use of styrofoam cups for every beverage. It wasn’t busy or late so I don’t understand using disposable cups that won’t break down for 500 years when there were plenty of clean cups. Loved the lighting, huge alcohol selection. Friendly service. Hopeful for change!

We arrived around 6pm with a group of 7 and were disappointed by the lack of service. The bartender stayed on one side of the bar for 10 minutes before finally acknowledging our presence, only to tell us she was in the middle of a shift change and couldn’t serve us — yet she continued to serve others. She spent the next 30 minutes closing tabs but took no new orders, and there was no second bartender present. Our group, who always tips generously, ended up leaving and going to Winston’s instead. Unfortunately, the experience left a negative impression, and we hope the service improves for future guests.

You can go through my account and see my other reviews; I don’t leave bad reviews often. That being said, this place was very disappointing. Food was extremely overcooked and made me nauseous. Bar staff was rude and inattentive. I can let one or the other go, but not both. They had Christmas decor up in July (which I didn’t mind), but the vibes in there were just off. Ever have the feeling you’re somewhere you shouldn’t be? That’s how I felt shortly after walking in. Shoulda listened to my gut from the start and maybe I wouldn’t have to listen to it for the rest of the night. To top everything off, I have seen cleaner men’s room in podunk Midwest dive bars that leave snack mix out on the bar top and the jukebox only has pre-2000’s country. If this is your spot, keep going, I guess. But if you havent ever been there, take your money somewhere else.

A friend recently moved into this general area, we decided to stop in to check out the place and eat in for lunch.

Typical bar food, wraps and hamburgers with fries primarily. I’m not a fan of smashburgers myself, but they did have a combo burger that was half smash hamburger and hot sausage patty that was not smashed. It was delicious. My friend ordered a chicken wrap which she said was very good as well.

We were there in the middle of the day on a weekday so it was extremely slow, we were the only ones in the place other than the bartender and the cook in the back kitchen. The bartender was extremely friendly and personable.

We’ll have to come back another time in the evening to see what the drinking crowd is like

Great ambiance! Great Bartenders!

The food… completely suspect! After 5 different experiences of cold or burnt food. When I finally made a complaint. The drunk kitchen manager (who cooked all my other meals) stumbled up to ask what’s the problem? Long story… he was mad that we ate a burnt burger and didn’t want to wait for another mishandled cooking experience!

Come here for drinks!

Food? Go somewhere where they care about the food they serve.

Kaitlyn is one of the most rude bartenders I have ever met. She has screamed/belittled myself, my friends, along with other patrons, while we have tried to order drinks a specific way that we like it while the bar had only maybe eight people max when both incidents occurred. I tried to reach out to one of the owners to inform them of what was going on in his establishment. Johnny was the owner that contacted me and didn’t even have the respect to call to see what happend he contacted me via text and said it was better if I find another place to drink at instead of fixing the problem internally. The two times I was in there with a friend and Johnny showed up he was really arrogant did not converse with anyone in the pub, very off putting and made everyone uncomfortable who was in the establishment at the time there due to his off putting demeanor, we all closed our tabs and migrated elsewhere. I used to frequent this place but started stepping back for mutiple reasons. Plus the food started off decent but went down hill as they do not filter their oil as often as they should so everything that is fried tastes the same. They even go as far as push the oil to the point that is burnt yet continue to cook with it instead of changing the oil you can smell the burnt oil when you walk in if you have when cooked or even working a food setting you know the smell specifically. Also the night time crowd has gotten so bad at this establishment with people getting into physical fisticuffs over absolutely nothing, that they had to higher a door man in order to reduce this instead of not letting that crew back in even knowing specifically who the patrons are that are exhibiting this behavior. This is marketed as a high in bar but is quickly declining and turning back into a dive bar with a larger liquor selection than before. After changing from JB’s (a failing Jefferson parish bar) to rebranding it as hogs alley and adding new partners but still keeping one of the original owners, they basically put a band aid on the business but one owner refuses to change his operation tactics and it reflects. This establishment is slowly working their way back down to JB’s antics. The outlook and demeanor of a business starts with the owners, that trickles down to management then eventually to the employees. This ultimately affects how patrons are treated. Then, when they are not properly reprimanded by higher-ups, it leds to every one one being disrespected. There are way to many pubs/eateries in this area to choose from for this type of disrespect to displayed to paying customers. Word of mouth advertising is your best friend but also your worst enemy. I will gladly pay more for a drink or food if the service is great and the atmosphere is receptive. Kaitlyn and Johnny lack both of these attributes every retrospect. Born and raised between Lafayette along with my parents hometown of Marksville, Louisiana, I can tell you the demeanor of owners and workers out here this would never fly in these towns. I have resided in old Metaire area for nine years. The service, along with attributes in this area have declined significantly.

Great drinks but the wings were very salty and the chicken tasted old.
