Hipbao is so lovely! I’ve been eating here for years now and they deserve so much more hype. They frequently throw in an extra dumpling to my order, offer free soup while we wait for our order, etc. and the people working are so sweet.

To everyone who left a review above 2 stars, I’m quite surprised. I frequently go to Cafe Monster in the little plaza that this place was nearby and I wanted to try it. For starters, the atmosphere of the restaurant was good. When you walk in, the dining area is very clean and there’s a tv, but besides that, it’s pretty typical. I was greeted with good service and I was happy that my order was ready to go. That being said, maybe I should’ve realized sooner that the two deep freezers behind the counter would indicate that the food was probably just going to be coming from a frozen kit. The potstickers and bao buns had little specs of meat in the center when we expected them to be filled generously. And I wouldn’t say I’m some professional bao bun and potsticker connoisseur or anything, but seriously, why does it look like a processed bun with a spec of meat in the center. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing for what we spent here. I would much rather sacrifice quality of service for exceptional food quality, however, you get the opposite here. While the service was great, the food quality reflects my review. I have yet to dine inside, however, with my carry out experience, I most likely will not.

I give this place a 3.5 if Google has the option. The food wasn’t bad, it was moderately seasoned but all the dishes I had weren’t that special in taste. The buns had too much dough. The scallion pancakes were oily and hard as they were a bit over fried. The price was reasonable compared to the quality. Bring your own water or buy them at the restaurant.
The owner was nice. They have a station of utensils and sauce for you to mix. The place can be a bit warm and humid inside, especially in the summer. There were plenty of tables, but I went when the place just opened so not many people came in.

This place is a gem. The food is excellent. I got the beef noodle bowl and the beef was flavorful and tender. The woman who helped me was amazing and provided excellent service. The crab rangoons were crispy and stuffed full. She even hooked me up with some hot and sour soup to try. Highly recommend this establishment!

First time trying Hip Bao, and we can’t wait to come back! Walking in, the restaurant was clean and smelled delicious! We tried the Hot and Sour Soup, Chicken Egg Rolls, and Pork Potstickers for appetizers and enjoyed them all. They were all house made and not frozen premade like many other restaurants. My wife had the Chicken Fried Rice and I tried the Beijing Beef. Both entrees were packed with flavor and we enjoyed our meals a lot! The employees were very friendly, gave us recommendations, and checked on us throughout our meal!! Definitely recommend trying Hip Bao!!

The food is very average. My group came for dumplings, specifically, but left disappointed. With the current 4.6 star rating, we thought we were getting delicious, flavorful dumplings. The potstickers (fried dumplings) were okay but had the same value (or lower value) as takeout or frozen dumplings. The fried baos were bland, and they contained barely any meat. The noodles were quite flavorless even with the dumplings and sauce on the side.
On the other hand, the service was great. The worker was very kind and gave us a free sample of spicy cucumbers. The actual atmosphere of the restaurant was quiet. There was no music in the background, making things quite awkward. The plates at the sauce station weren’t clean, but the actual restaurant itself was exceptionally clean.

Pretty tasty overall, and the service was excellent. As others have said, the buns do have a lot of dough. More filling would definitely be better.
Either way, the prices are reasonable, and they have fun things to try.

My 2.5 year old LOVES Steam buns. We found this place online and had to try it. We can definitely say our little one enjoyed the buns! The service was amazing! We got our food fast, we got some phenomenal hot sour soup and they actually got us some milk for our daughter, even though it wasn’t on the menu. Try the custard bao, it’s a nice sweet pillow cloud treat! We will come back to try the noodle dishes!

The food was very tasty. I especially liked the beef dumpling noodle soup. The scallion pancake and fried pork dumplings were also good. The woman working the counter was very nice and helpful. I would definitely say you need to try it. Just be prepared for the possibility of FOX news playing on the TV.
