Went out for dare night. Sat at the bar with Nate. Had several drinks, 16 Oz Bison ribeye, twin lobster tails, twice baked potato, mushroom meldey and Brussels sprouts. All excellent! Definitely will be back. We’ve even ate lunch here several times!

The Brass Anvil is my new favorite restaurant. The only downside is, the distance it is from where we live. We had an amazing experience. I loved the atmosphere and the food was outstanding! The meats were all tender and seasoned very well. The pasta was homemade as well as the sauces. Even the butter for my lobsters was blended with champagne. Zachary was our waiter, and he was delightful. All of us can’t wait to come back.

Came here to celebrate my birthday and had a terrible experience start to finish. First, we arrived and had reservations and walked in. No hostess was at front. We waited nearly 10 minutes by the door and had to grab someone and tell them we were waiting for our table (the place had maybe 4 seated tables total). Sat down with menus and waited another 5+ minutes for water. Put in our drink orders and while I took a sip of my water noticed a giant lipstick stain on the glass (I don’t wear lipstick). Sent that back. Meanwhile we heard the table next to us ordered an old fashioned but sent it back bc it had the wrong garnish – a cherry, not an orange slice. They asked for a beer instead and sent the drink back. My husband ordered the Smoke Show, a mezcal cocktail. Guess what our waiter served him? The old fashioned that had been sent back! Completely disgusted at this point, my husband headed out to secure us a table elsewhere and I told our server to cancel our order, I’d pay for our drinks and were headed elsewhere. My son and I sat there for another 10+ minutes waiting for the check. Finally, he came to wait on the table next to us and I said excuse me I wanted our check. He said the owner was getting it. The owner then came over and proceeded to argue with me about everything could be “easily fixed” and we should let them fix it. I said it was my birthday and I just wanted to leave. They argued with us about the drinks being wrong, they argued us – literally – out the door. We will never come back here.

I would recommend this restaurant, which is a special experience, for everyone. However, I do have a couple of nits to pick in my review, in the hope of them becoming even better. First what was excellent. Their meat is locally sourced within 30 minutes of the restaurant, it was really special and cooked to perfection. A big disappointment over what should be a small thing was the bearnaise sauce. It tacked on $5 to a $70 steak which is a bit tacky in itself, but then it was the wrong color, not fresh and appeared to be microwaved. Not excellent. The other issue was that when we got there on an early reservation, there was no one to receive us and we had to find a bartender to get help. Once that was resolved, the dinner service was excellent. Overall it was a great experience, but the price does deserve excellence throughout. The 100+ per person reflects dinner with wine and desert.

Awesome locally sourced beef! Best burger and best steak that I’ve had anywhere. Love the old school wood decor. Think of a fusion of modern and old west diner. Great staff and quick service.

The food was amazing, I had one of the best pork chops of my life here. Also recommend the pear salad, the portion is very generous and it was delicious. Service could have been a bit faster but everyone was friendly and I did not detect any hint of rudeness that was mentioned in the other review.

My new favorite restaurant in Carbondale! Delicious food and cocktails, very hospitable staff, and stunning environment. As someone who works in the industry, I felt like I was well taken care of. Will definitely be back!

Jesse rocks and so did JJ! I had a special request for Valentine’s Day and they were helpful and responsive to make it a great night. The steak was amazing and the service was on point. I was a huge fan of the pear and goat cheese salad too. I’d highly recommend the Brass Anvil!

Stopped by this amazing place yesterday for an early dinner. Food was awesome! We had the cornbread muffin with herbed bourbon butter, fresh fried mozzarella with hot marinara, the incredible maple glazed pork tenderloin mac and cheese and the delicious pear and goat cheese salad. Didn’t save room for dessert so we took a piece of pie home with us! Our hostess/server/bartender Rosie was fabulous! If she isn’t the manager/owner for this place, she should be! Beer was cold and my Bloody Mary was exceptional! This place is a must visit from my perspective! Can’t wait to visit next summer and sit on the patio after a great day on the nearby bike trail!

Sat outside. Moved 3 times because of rain and a wobbly table. But! Food was delicious . Came here for my parents 35th wedding anniversary. Parents got steaks, one wasn’t done enough for her tastes but they were quick to remedy. All the shareables are worth the extra bit. I had the rainbow trout and the seasoning was divine. Would come again hoping for a more relaxing atmosphere (and not the restaurants fault) just the happenstance. Also order desert if you can?
