Just got this delivered on Uber Eats and it was outstanding. The Naan is massive, and the chicken tikka masala was 10/10. Got it spicy and it did not disappoint. The Samosa Chat was also great- amazing taste and texture. I’ll for sureeee be ordering this again.

We stopped in on a whim when visiting Chicago, and ended up having a great meal! It was freezing outside and all the dishes hit the right spot to warm us up. We will definitely return next time we are in the Windy City!

I have a sweet tooth so I recommend finishing off with some gulab jamun.

The food at Himalayan Restaurant looked great, and some dishes like the naans, paneer, and chicken curry were quite good. However, there were a few drawbacks — the tandoori had too much food coloring, and the chicken was stretchy and not very tender. Service was just okay, nothing remarkable. Overall, it was an average experience with a mix of hits and misses.

The food at Himalayan Restaurant is flavorful and well prepared, with rich spices and authentic taste. Dishes are fresh, satisfying, and clearly made with quality ingredients.
Service is friendly and the ambiance is pleasant, making it a nice place to dine in. The only downside is that the prices are slightly higher compared to similar spots, which affects the overall value a bit.
Overall, a good dining experience with tasty food — worth visiting if you’re in the area.

I truly don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, but I do want to share our experience honestly. My husband and I ordered:

Chilli Paneer
Murg Masala
Steamed Chicken Momos
Unfortunately, the food didn’t meet our expectations. The chilli paneer felt like raw paneer simply mixed in a paste, and the murg masala was overwhelmingly colored with orange dye without much flavor.
The steamed momos were decent, though.

I hope the feedback is taken in the right spirit — we’d love to see the place thrive with a few improvements!

Disappointed and won’t be returning.

Ordered chicken chilli momos (very average), paneer chilli (barely had any paneer—you could count the pieces on two hands), and the Himalayan Mixed Tandoori Grill, which was an utter disaster. The tandoori chicken was undercooked and pink inside—not just red from seasoning but genuinely undercooked. The platter claimed to have lamb and chicken kebabs, but we literally got half a piece of each—$24 for scraps?

Also, their tipping system doesn’t allow custom tips—only preset options, which is frustrating and feels pushy.

Really bad experience overall. Definitely not worth the money or the hype.

It’s been a while since I had Momos. And this restaurant delivered. The taste was as authentic as you can get outside of Katmandu, Calcutta, Darjeeling or Gangtok. Some elements in service can be improved. Like having chopsticks to pick and eat the momos instead of fork or even ask if the customer needs any drink besides water.

Got the typical South Asian taste! I love chicken tika masala and the lamb. The portion is quite large, enough for me and my two other friends and we still have some leftovers to bring home. I ordered 1 packet and it’s worth the price. Will definitely try again next time I go to Chicago

I’ve been ordering from this restaurant for at least the last two years and I always get the same order unfortunately today I ordered the same order that I always get the Lamb vindaloo and the cocktail Samosa it taste really weird. The lamb sauce was so oily and too much tomato sauce. I never seen this reddish color and taste totally different than my previous 20 orders for the same thing so I know exactly how it taste and then the Samosa is super salty. The quality of the food was terrible today. I don’t know if it’s a new chef or something else going on I am very disappointed. It was the only Indian restaurant that I get my food from and I crave usually but not anymore. That’s so sad.

I loved this place! The food was Excellent. The service was great! This is my new favorite Indian cuisine restaurant. The atmosphere is more of a lunch dinner/ quick bite type of place but you can make a date night out of it and byob.
