The brisket was almost all fat and grease. There was maybe 2 oz of meat in a half pound plate. My wife’s pulled pork was more like pork mush. The bbq sauce was bought from a store and the beans and bacon was gross.

Hi-BBQ?? Well, that sucked! We ordered the 18+, expecting 18 ounces of meat, like in the picture. Surprise! We got two pork ribs, a thin slice of brisket that was half fat, and pulled pork that was half barbecue sauce. Most of the weight in the serving box was comprised of rice. To make matters worse, there was very little flavor. I have done hundreds of reviews, and this place definitely ranks in the bottom 10%. If you see their red white and blue food truck, hit the gas and go to Mike’s Huli Chicken instead – there’s the real deal. I’ve never heard of Mike’s before, but I ate there yesterday, but if you love barbecue, and pulled pork check out those Hawaiian boys instead.

The line at Giovannis was just too long. The BBQ smelled wonderful, so we gave it a chance. Great food, pulled pork was great. Portions are huge, but a lot is rice. Would eat again.

Brisket is incredible, staff was super cordial, the owner was making us laugh, and making sure everything was to our liking. The covered seating was much appreciated. Six or seven picnic tables under a large tent. Will definitely be returning. Probably the best food we had on the North Shore, no joke.

Really great staff. The brisket was amazing and tender. The ribs were meaty and good. I thought the pulled pork was just so so. Biggest problem was the sides were flavorless. I was hoping for a really good slaw, but tasteless. Also disappointed that the bbq sauce was sweet baby rays. A decent sauce (mostly corn syrup) but I expect a bbq restaurant to have their own. Now mind you the brisket was tasty enough without sauce.

Best barbeque in the island, pulled pork is my personal favorite and the tag line “this where diets go to die” is epic. Owner is really cool, super friendly, Aloha overload ❤️

Stopped here for lunch whwn it was only the rib truck. The ribs are good but I wanted better sides. Then they opened the HI-Chix with the focus being fried chicken. They need some work on their flavors. The gouda mac & cheese would be great except it has chili peppers in it. Like the hot kind. The chicken has no flavor and is over cooked/fried. The baked beans taste like they are out the can. They need more brown sugar or some bbq sauce. The mashed potatoes need some pepper and butter. Overall a flavor upgrade is needed. I’ll keep eating here to support local. Hopefully they work on it…but do try the ribs.

Some of the best BBQ I’ve had… So good! Tons of food with each plate, too. I had the pulled pork, my husband had the brisket, and both were equally delicious!

How could HIBBQ get any better? They opened HICHIX, it has to be the best fried chicken on the island. Great sides and great owners make this a must stop if you are Oahu’s North Shore
