HEY SUGAR is a playfully refined bakery and cafe concept in Geneva, IL. The menu features a wide range of whimsical simple to sophisticated treats that appeal to the young and young at heart. Guests can choose from a delectable mix of cupcakes, pastries, English Toffee, and other delights. Beverage options include a selection of unique teas from The Rare Tea Seller along with award-winning coffee from Seattle’s Dillanos Coffee Roasters. Rounding out the menu is over-the-top soft serve options that feature a special dairy mix exclusive to the area (vegan available). The space has been transformed into a floral wonderland, inspired by the owners trips to the flower markets in London and Paris.

I had a random post from Google about the top Cities to visit in Illinois and Geneva was on that list!!! While exploring Geneva we came across this shop and I freaking loved it!!! I ordered tea and bought the glitter bomb with it and I was so happy to mix it with my drink!! It was super cute and the cakes and cookies looked delicious but I already had too many sweets… But the drink I got I added some sugar and it literally tasted like fruit loops to me. It was so great!!

Perfect, picturesque, and tasty place! This is a must stop for icecream! Staff is friendly and patient. The cups come in one size and they were the perfect portion of icecream. They loaded the toppings which was great. The softserve was delicious. They also have cupcakes available! Take pictures with the cutest photo ops! This spot is adorable and I will definitely come back!

I tried the Shark’s Lemonade and it was delicious! I also had a chocolate cupcake topped with a scoop of cookie dough—the cupcake was good, but the cookie dough wasn’t my favorite. The store itself is very visually appealing, and the staff is friendly, which makes for a nice overall experience.

Nice little shop. The cupcakes were very tasty however, they were a little dry. My guess is because they are sitting in the case and are not completely covered in frosting but a dab on the top. They were still very tasty and beautiful. The Ice cream is standard fare as it is just soft serve, but you can get swirl which is appreciated. I love the decorations in the restaurant and will be going again. A welcome addition to 3rd street

Let’s start by talking about how cute the inside of the shop is! It’s freaking adorable in there. The ice cream is delicious and so are the cupcakes. I love the colored cones they offer and they have a good selection of pre-created ice cream but can also make you what you ask for. I ordered a black cone with vanilla ice cream and the 24K gold leaf (they were out of gold so I got silver). My 2 younger sisters ordered the uh-oh orea in a cup with a pink cone on the side and the other ordered the Cloud 9- which comes with a huge serving of cotton candy on top. My mom ordered the Espress Yo’ Self and that was actually really good considering it had espresso in it. When you order the espress yo’ self they ask if you want a light or medium roast shot, so it’s nice that you get a choice. The hot chocolates smell delicious and I intend to order one on my next trip. They do their best to have everyone maintain 6ft. distance and everyone wears their masks correctly inside. The employees are so friendly and kind- it seems like it’s hard to find employees like them these days. I will most definitely make the 40 minute trip again to keep trying different menu items, or just make up my own creations. I definitely recommend if you like trying new places and like hot chocolate, ice cream, or cupcakes. They do have a few other items on the menu, like truffles or shakes.

This place…is REALLY cool. Def an instascene but also just a fun, tasty place to take the fam. I ordered a cupcake and a chocolate pu’erh cuz I’m bougie like that but I wish I ordered the wild ice cream or the decadent hot cocoa. Which ends tomorrow as they move into summer drinks…which look amazing!! Magic color changing lemonade that the staff gave us samples of when they saw us spying on their Instagram photoshoot! I’m def going back.

Beautiful shoppe. Pricey ice cream at almost $10. Fun flavors. My husband loved the cotton candy! I was not that impressed with the “Espresso yo self” flavor. It was merely chocolate ice cream with strong espresso poured over it and topped with whip cream and sprinkles. The reason I chose this flavor was because of the espresso and the stroopwafel. IMO the medium roast espresso was really strong and the half dollar sized stroopwafel was really hard to chew. I might have liked it better slightly heated and softened.
