Noah was amazing! Came for my friends 23rd birthday after another restaurant fumbled our reservation, and it was totally made up for here. Mimosa pitcher got 2 drinks our of each of us (group of 5)! Definitely recommend for a great vibe, solid diner food. Staff is amazing and totally make the place, worth the visit! 🙂

Absolute hidden gem here in DC. I hadn’t been to Duplex in years and then found out it was gone. Then my friend said let’s go to HER diner, it’s like duplex but better, and it absolutely is.

I started with the bi Felicia drink and it knocked me off my feet. That thing is strong but tasty. Highly recommend it.

We split tater tots for a snack and I had the chicken burger. It was cooked well and was juice vs dry, and the buffalo sauce I got on the side was really good. The onion rings were fried to perfection.

If you’re craving diner food, this is a great spot.

If you’re looking for a warm, welcoming spot that feels like home but with a twist, HER Diner is the place to be! This casual LGBTQ+ restaurant and bar nails the perfect balance of comfort and creativity.

The menu is packed with elevated comfort food that hits all the right notes. Think juicy burgers, indulgent mac and cheese, and ultimate comfort foods, meatloaf and chicken pot pie!

The craft cocktails are a highlight—expertly mixed, beautifully presented, and full of bold, unique flavors. Don’t skip their signature drink… The “Squeeze”

The vibe is as inclusive as it gets, with friendly, attentive staff who make everyone feel like family. Whether you’re here for a weekend brunch, a dinner date, or just drinks with friends, you’ll leave feeling like you’ve found your new favorite hangout.

Highly recommend checking it out—it’s the kind of place that quickly becomes your go-to spot.

First, I’d love to shoutout the owner Kelly for being an amazing visionary! This place is so unique and cozy and thoughtfulness of the design details speaks to the heart of the owner.

Staff: amazingly friendly and very hospitable! Thank you to everyone who worked the bar, prepared the food, seated guests, or even bus tables-the work came with a smile and that a rare restaurant find.

Decor: allow me to elaborate on the decor because it’s a time capsule adorned with vintage pieces. The booths, the bar, the dining area-AH! I love it! But, let’s acknowledge the restrooms…honey! One restroom is dedicated to THE Queen Bey and get this, when you open the doors, you’ll immediately hear a Bey classic playing on the speakers inside. And if that wasn’t enough to make you fangirl, I went over to the other restroom and the material girl herself, Madonna, can be heard in the speakers and seen on the wall decor. Both restrooms have so much personality! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

Drinks: baby these bartenders didn’t come to play! They are mixologist and take their craft seriously. Let’s acknowledge that I originally had a reposado tequila cocktail with pineapple juice (not pictured) and it was DELICIOUS! But the star up to contend against the rest is their espresso martini…ooowee this drink didn’t come to play around and I’d love to see it go up against some of the others in the District because I can see it coming out on top…it’s just that good! Signed: a dedicated espresso martini drinker!

Pictured but not sampled: Kelly was playing around with a few drinks and the Betty White Cosmo was a golden girl approach to a cute evening! Ask for it!

Food: I ordered their wings fried hard with a side of ranch and BBQ sauce. These wings were seasoned to perfection and fried perfectly! Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside (pauses as my mouth waters again) they were delectable to the bone!

Is this place good for groups? ABSOLUTELY! Grab the crew and visit their happy hour which ends at 7pm.

Is there parking nearby? Parking is tight but you wouldn’t want to drive here anyway because the drinks are worth having a few-take a cab!

Would I return? Honey, I’m planning a return as I type!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! For reaffirming that I am HER!

An absolute gem run by amazing people! Her is a favorite among regulars, welcoming and always familiar faces. I highly recommend you make a visit if you have never been. Also great events like trivia and drag shows!

A cute diner with a cool vibe that’s just a short walk from the Washington Hilton. Imagine a University district cafe to get an idea of the vibe. Relaxing and friendly place for a drink and bite to eat.

“Her” diner was filled with gay boys. My wife and i were the only queer ladies in the entire place. I’m glad the gay boys are keeping this place afloat, as the world needs more sapphic spaces, but jesus. The food was good but the service was so lackluster. No one greeted us. Someone very reluctantly finally seated us. A man pissed all over the toilet seat. The tv screens were playing a mix of sports and straight movies. This place is alright, but it’s not a lesbian space. Disappointed to see it after having high hopes.

I really wanted to like the food more but unfortunately it was a bit of a disappointment for me. Food was pretty bland and the coffee wasn’t that great either. For a place charging a good bit for entrees for diner food, I was unfortunately hoping it would be better.

The vibes of the place were really cute though! Could be a good spot for drinks or other activities.

Her is a standout, especially on a busy day. The energy is infectious, and the owners are visibly on the floor, mingling and checking in with guests—really refreshing and welcoming. Service is friendly and efficient, even with crowds, and the food is thoughtfully prepared and well-paced. A warm, lively spot that makes you feel valued. Can’t wait to come back!

The food is very mediocre for the price. I was happy to support a queer owned business but won’t be back after two very mediocre meals (both dinner and brunch). The donut holes were super disappointing and when we sat outside, it was like the staff forgot about us. Had to track them down for both our apps and our check/more water. As You Are has much better food.
