The Florence Cafe is a wonderful small-town restaurant, with that homey feel. The place was packed, for a Saturday, and the servers were attentive to everyone with a smile, plus the breakfast was simply delicious. I would highly recommend this Cafe.

This is the 1st time I’ve been here this late in the season. It was not busy at all.
The dining room is small but clean, and with comfortable seating.
2 eggs and bacon came with cinnamon raisin toast and oatmeal. Denver omelet was filled generously with ham, peppers and onions, English muffin and hash browns. My eggs Benedict included a hearty slice of ham and tangy hollandaise sauce, hash browns and a side of chunky sausage gravy with a side of milk with the food.

Went with my husband, it was very packed. Had availability within a couple minutes.
First and foremost the food was subpar, husband had to order his steak again due to it being the wrong order of meat and it not being cooked to order. After he got it, still was not cooked to order. While waiting I observed the lack of care with cleanliness and conversations around customers.
No one was using gloves besides the cooks, constantly touching hair, pants, shirts, personal items, putting food into their mouths, and touching food with bare hands. We didn’t see anyone once clean their hands.
They cleaned counters and picked up dirty dishes while picking up clean dishes with new orders on them. Also ice chest is to be closed and scoop to be stored outside of the chest away from the ice. It was left open with scoop inside as well as put touching the ice with bare hands using cups to scoop ice.
They were very attentive to make sure food and products were served properly and to our liking, so that was the only nice part.
Restaurant lacked in a lot, heath inspection definitely needs to be secret shoppers in that location. Definitely needs to be put on dirty dining.

Update Feb 2026. Still a solid 5 stars. Thought we were arriving early for lunch this morning but we got caught between customers having a late breakfast and the early lunch crowd. There was a wait list. We were fifth on the list but it went quickly – took about 10 minutes. I had the open face beef with mashed potatoes and deep savory brown gravy and my wife had the chicken fried steak. Delicious. Large portions. Excellent value. More pics attached.
First time here. Lunch. Outstanding! Large wait staff. Friendly and helpful. No waiting. Seat yourself. Large clean and bright. Daily specials. My wife had the chicken fried steak and I had liver and onions. Lunch entree items come with your choice of TWO sides. I had mashed potatoes with brown gravy and fried okra. Delicious. My wife had a salad and also the fried okra. Excellent value. Everyone loves great value. Photos attached. We will eat here again. And will bring friends.

Great breakfast! Sunday morning was busy but food came out exactly as ordered. Our group tried pancakes, eggs Benny, and SMS omelet. Everything was cooked properly and delicious. Never had to ask for a coffee refill, the team worked together! And fairly priced.

Horrible experience. Will not eat here again. There is no sign that says “please seat yourself”. If you want to eat here, be prepared to clean your own table. I ordered the pancake combo which came with 1 egg, three pancakes, and either sausage or bacon. I got my three pancakes but my 1/4 of a scrambled egg and 2 sausage links were cold!!! They never came around and refilled our drinks, we watched people cleaning their own tables, the price is crazy with such small small portions, and rude staff. I did not pay for my cold pancake combo. We got no apology. That’s okay though!!! We got Taco Bell right across the street and Florence Cafe will not be getting our service again.

The breakfast here was amazing I got the biscuits and gravy; just a heads up it is an enormous amount of food and delicious! Our waitress was so sweet, we were looking for a place to stay while we are there working and she asked around to the locals while we were there and gathered us up the information that we needed. Will definitely be back!

The food is always hot and delicious, the atmosphere; country but quaint, exactly what you expect in a small town. Homely, delicious, good service! This café deserves your attention, always busy and for good reason. Only a few times was my coffee not refilled unless I asked (usually peak hours when its busy) and the atmosphere is just below perfection due to how tightly packed things can get, and yet it just works!

F.C. Try nicely cooked chicken steaks, fried chicken and tenderloin that are served at this cafe. Many visitors come here to enjoy tasty pancakes, biscuits and French toasts. Delicious gin is among the most popular drinks at Florence Cafe. A selection of great coffee or good tea is offered to guests. I KNOW many people come here for breakfast, but there is lunch turn that menu over. I had catfish..trust..its good.

It’s.. ok I guess. Definitely nothing special. I got an order to go. I had a skillet and my girl got pancakes with bacon. My skillet was pretty bland so I added Cholula..then it was better. The portion was pretty good tho and the prices for combos weren’t bad. Apparently they charge arms and legs if you get a side of something. $6.99 for a side of bacon?? It better be a full pound for that price! Service was average but the girls seemed nice enough. My girl lives out here in Florence but that’s changing soon so most likely wouldn’t be back.
