We were surprised with an amazing omakase experience. This was better than most of the famous sushi spots back home in Chicago. The quality of the food and the subtle tweaks made this an excellent omakase experience. Don’t think about it, just make a reservation and get the omakase experience.

After eating our way through japan, we never expected to find the beat sushi we have ever had in sayulita. Absolutely 10/10 food and service. The ingredients and preparation of the food was out of this world. And the staff and the chef Daniel in particular were so kind and knowledgeable.

John at Heshin Sushi is the definition of hospitality done right.
From the moment we walked in, he made us feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of. He’s attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without being pretentious, and somehow manages to make the entire experience feel seamless. Every recommendation he made was spot on — whether it was a special roll, sashimi selection, or sake pairing.
What really stood out was how intentional he is. He checks in at the perfect moments, keeps the pacing of the meal flowing smoothly, and makes sure your table has everything you need before you even think to ask. You can tell he truly cares about guests having an exceptional experience.
The food at Heshin is fantastic, but service like John’s is what makes you come back. Professional, warm, polished — and memorable.
Highly recommend asking for John next time you go.

This was some of the best sushi I’ve ever had! The service was amazing as well, John was super attentive and kind. We got the spicy tuna roll, shrimp tempura roll, shrimp fried rice, salmon nigiri, wagyu nigiri, edamame and miso soup!!! 10/10 would recommend 🙂

We just left the restaurant and wanted to say we had a wonderful experience. The service was one of the best experiences we have ever had at any restaurant. The food was amazing, we have had many experiences at sushi restaurants and this restaurant hands down is the best we have ever been to. If you know sushi you know how important the rice is to the dish and the chef at the restaurant has mastered the art of both cutting and seasoning his fish but also the rice. We have been here twice now and look forward to our next visit.

We had such a great experience here. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything on the menu, which made ordering really fun and easy. We loved all of our sushi, but my favorite part was the dessert—it was amazing! Overall, it was a perfect spot for a nice date. Would definitely come back.

My wife, son and I have thoroughly enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at Henshin the last two years. Chef Daniel knocks it out of the park!! The quality of the fish and the service are outstanding!! Hope to be back again soon!!

My wife and son had a lovely evening at Henshin. We opted for the Omakase experience and it was worth it. It was a well structured meal right to the desert. The bluefin tuna nigiri was the top of the night but the rest of the dishes were also excellent.
The owner was gracious, chatty, and suggested other dining spots as well. The staff were knowledgeable and professional.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I have traveled to Japan and lived on the west coast of North America and this was one of the top sushi experiences I’ve had.
