As a former UW student, I enjoyed the beef noodle soup from this restaurant. I went back recently where the only thing I’d say would be that I love hot soup and would prefer this to be temperature hotter. Regardless, the flavors were there. I will visit again!

The owner has retired, leading to the restaurant’s closure. It was my go-to spot, and both the regular and off-menu items were incredible.

The OG of Taiwanese foods in Seattle. Henry has been cooking authentic Taiwanese style dishes for more than 20 years. Go try his amazing creations before he retires. My personal favorites are stinky tofu and watermelon juice.

My brother, husband and I came to Henry’s on the hunt for dumplings, and we’re pleased with all the additional options on the menu. The restaurant itself is brightly colored, with high windows letting in plenty of natural light, making for a cheerful atmosphere. The tables did feel a tad sticky, but for the most part the whole place seemed quite clean.

I think the food was okay. As a non Taiwanese I didn’t really like the flavor but it did seem authentic. It definitely wasn’t Americanized.

I wish I could give 0 star. We ordered the three cup chicken and dried bean curd. It’s the WORST dishes we have ever tried. I could hardly believe that they are from a restaurant. The three cup chicken is over cooked and too dry to eat and the dried bean curd is tooooooo salty. Will never order here again.

Off to the side from the Ave, this hidden restaurant offers some of the authentic Taiwanese/Chinese food. It is always packed with us Asians you know it must be good. Recommend going with someone that is familiar with the cuisine however as the menu is hard to navigate in English.

I’m surprised this place has such a low rating, but I suppose there may be some inconsistency in experiences. Sometimes you might have a stellar, wonderful experience and other times you might not? I haven’t had any issues, but I mostly takeout (I have dined in before, though). I used to go to the Chinatown location all the time as a kid until it closed down. Our go-to order was the Super Taiwanese Lunch Box (extra piece of meat over the regular Taiwanese Lunch Box). It was better in the past, but still good now.
