Miss the way it used to be, so surprised and shocked at how defensive the new owner is to the online reviews. Use the negative reviews to improve, be the bigger person and own up to it. Petty replies to the people who keep you in business will keep us away for good. Highly recommended checking out Yen Yen in Arlington Heights instead.

So, this place has a cult following for a reason. It is DELICIOUS. Definitely could use a fresh look, however it is part of the charm. Located in downtown Palatine this place is a gem. Best egg rolls for miles and miles. Old school and worth the wait while locals drink standing around the bar. Sign me up! I loved it

Best egg rolls around. Hard to find these days is the Shrimp Toast, very yummy! Good size portions. Many choices. Some tables have a lazy susan which is great for sharing food family style. Have been here several times, and it’s 45 min drive for us.

I can’t believe I have to give Heng Wing one star. For the past 30 years, it had been our favorite Chinese food restaurant. I especially liked the delicious shrimp egg foo young! The food was flavorful, and consistent. However, we recently ordered takeout and were terribly disappointed. The egg foo young was a completely different recipe. It didn’t resemble the original version and lacked flavor. I called them and was told that their chef isn’t following the original recipes. They should change their name and stop fooling customers. Huge disappointment! It’s sad but we won’t be returning.

Heng wing I can’t believe the way you responded to the customers who were disappointed in your food! Like the person who was a customer for 30 years! I was a customer for many years and ordered through covid faithfully and begged that you reopen and you finally did and just about from day 1 of your reopening the food was not good. I also would drive 25 minutes to pick up and was disappointed. The pot stickers were like rubber the egg foo young had no taste! Your tomato beef was so garlicky we could not eat it. Many other things were not as they were. Take the criticism and make it better! Many people we know feel the same way as your other disappointed customers. I now will never come back and I’m sure many others won’t either

Haven’t been there in over a year…now I remember why. I got the War Sue and the chicken was so dried out it was like eating wood. 🙁 Hubs got Mongolian Beef and said it was OK. Egg Rolls were delish!

TERRIBLE!!!!. ORDERED $45.00 of food. The pot stickers pork meat was still pink. No taste at all. The dipping sauce tasted like they put a few green onions in soy sauce, that’s not pot sticker sauce. We ordered a large order of orange chicken. It was not in a quart container. It came in a white take out Styrofoam box. One small portion of terrible stuck together pieces of tough chicken. The other side ALL white rice. Yet they also included a pint white rice in order. We looked at the menu again, they only have 1 size large. Rip off.

Disappointed and writing this review to alert anyone that doesn’t know… it’s not the same. Long time customer and Heng Wing was our go to restaurant but not any longer. Had carryout last night and noticed the price increase right away. Kind of expected in today’s world. The food was terrible. Ordered several beef dishes and Xtra sides of beef. It was not the same. The egg rolls were tasteless, sweet sauce disappointing. Crab ragoons tasted and smelled like old oil. I wish the new owners luck, but Palatine has been spoiled with the original owners and they are missed very much.
