OK people, don’t get me wrong. I still love Heng Wing!!! But does anyone else feel that they’ve changed the eggrolls that they make?

Went for lunch on Sunday. I was the only customer. Staff are helpful; the server refilled my water often. They serve hot tea. I ordered eggrolls and potstickers. The eggroll is good. It had a nice flavor and good texture. It’s not greasy. One of the better Chinese eggrolls in the metro. The potstickers are old-school, with a good flavor. They have a thinner wrapper than others. The sauce is a bit bland. Paid with a card. May return to try other things.

I had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was a standout — full of flavor, not greasy, and made with fresh ingredients. You could really taste the balance of seasoning, and the portion size was generous. It’s clear they put care into preparing their food. The service was also excellent. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. Will definitely come back.

Went to Heng wing for the first time in a decade for my Birthday. It was the meal of the Year! Pete and Mike on the front counter gave great recommendations for my family. And Pete is one heck of a bartender! He made me a zombie which is one of the tastier stiffer drinks I’ve ever had in my life.
We got Egg Rolls which were bigger but just as good as I remember. Crab Rangoon was on point. For our meal we got heng wing egg foo young which was phenomenal, sweet and sour chicken which was perfect, all edible juicy pieces., sesame beef which is probably my new go to. Ying our server was great and Alex was also very helpful. We also brought up enough food home to have another meal and there were six of us. Great value for the money!
I read the reviews after I went and it is insane they get bad reviews. The egg rolls are great and the food is very flavorful. Highly recommend eating inside there as it’s a beautiful dining room. And it is a great place to have a family dinner. You have gained a regular customer for sure. And I’m driving all the way from Dundee that’s how good it is!

Was hesitant to try Heng Weng again since our last time here over 2 years ago was a bad experience – awful, salty, cold food. A friend swears by this place so we gave it another try and OMG are we glad we did. When trying restaurants, we always go for the lunch menu in case it’s not good at least we spent less. We will definitely be back for a dinner. Awesome potstickers! We had shrimp egg foo young and cashew chicken. Both sooo good AND food came hot & stayed hot so you know it wasn’t just sitting under a heat lamp. Always a deal breaker if my food arrives cold. Good size portions – and this was a lunch special which included egg roll. Very reasonably priced for lunch anyway – didn’t look at dinner menu. The only thing we didn’t care for was the included pork fried rice. Had a strange spice we didn’t like – not the restaurant’s fault.

Ordered for pickup on Valentine’s Day for dinner. Had just received their menu in the mail and it felt like the world wanted us to have Chinese for Valentine’s Day. Anyway, I’m guessing lots of people got the menu sent to them because it was completely packed. We called to place an order ahead of time and when I went to pick it up, there were 11 or so people ahead of me waiting to pick up their orders. They were slammed. But also very efficient at processing payment and getting the food out. I didn’t have to wait too long once I gave my name and number for the pickup order. Finally made it home with the food and was very pleasantly surprised. Huge portions and very delicious. Also got a handful of fortune cookies which was a bonus surprise. Overall very impressed and will be ordering from them again.

Heng Wing Restaurant is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time! The Crab Rangoon is out of this world—crispy on the outside, creamy and flavorful on the inside, easily the best I’ve ever tasted. And don’t even get me started on the Piña Colada—smooth, perfectly balanced, and refreshingly tropical. I honestly didn’t expect to find a drink this good outside a beach resort!
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the service is fast and friendly, and everything I tried was fresh and full of flavor. If you’re anywhere near the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again.

Still a great meal, just not the same Heng Wing I grew up with.
I grew up in Palatine and ordering out from Heng Wing was always a treat. Everything was always perfect and if there happened to be leftovers, they’d be gone within 24 hours. Even as a young adult I lived in downtown Palatine and frequented the establishment. Shrimp fried rice and an order of egg rolls were always my go to.
I no longer live in the area but still get the craving when I come back. Today my family ordered out for Christmas Eve dinner. As I called to make my reservation, I noticed some less than favorable reviews recently. The reviews didn’t deter me, and quite honestly, I’m glad they didn’t. The main entrees we got were delicious as always.

– vegetable egg foo young
– Mongolian beef
– shrimp fried rice

The service was bad The waiter we had was also the bartender and he kind of ignored us after taking our order because our food was late. We understood it was busy, but other people who arrived after us got their dinner orders plenty time. Before we did. Our egg rolls were cold to medium warm. We also did not get the complimentary sweet like all the other tables. The food came and it was hot but the taste was not the best. The cashew chicken although not bad, it had no flavor whatsoever..

Ordered takeout online and got to the restaurant when my order was to be ready. Asked if I could use ApplePay, was told yes but I had to use my card. It will be another 5 minutes I was told. Okay, Saturday night didn’t seem too busy but okay. My food came out, they had my name but insisted I use the last four of my phone number which didn’t match my name, my food was set on the back counter until someone else called my name and then gave me the bag set on the back counter. Got home and was missing my veggie rolls, I called and was told I would get a credit on my card, nope. Why did I give a tip? Still trying to figure out why I should leave a tip on take out.

I’ve been going here for close to 30 years. I find the food is consistently good. It’s my favorite place to get Chinese and even though I keep moving further away, when I want something good, I make the drive to get Heng Wing. It’s always worth it.
