We went there at noon on a weekday. It’s only 1/3 full. Maybe because it’s a weekday. There was a $10 off promotion for scanning a QR code and give out our email and phone number, which makes the meal better value for money. Seaweed is crispy and rice is warm and perfect texture, which is the most important for handrolls. Food and service is good.

We were here on Sunday, 12/28 around 1pm. The team doing service at that time was fantastic. I work in a service industry and just wanted to applaud the dynamic I saw with the crew here. Shout out to Shogo and Christian as well, making our first dining experience here a positive one. Food, dessert and drinks were great. We ordered the holiday set, 6 hand roll set, sashimi, and various other hand rolls. The lychee drink wasn’t as sweet as I assumed and more matcha forward – just a heads up for those looking for a sweeter drink. Would come back again!

Edit – Brandon clarified on the gratuity and even made changes so that no one else would be impacted by this. Apparently, previously if you pay with giftcard there was no option to add tips, so the server would add it on your behalf. But they have now changed this and also party over 6, they’ve removed the mandatory 18% gratuity so you can choose your own tip percentage.

Came back here for the second time and enjoyed their food a lot more this time. The male server explains each dish more in depth and ensures everything was good. I did find a piece of crab shell in one of my roll and they apologized and made me a new one right away. I guess that shows how fresh and high quality it is and not some packaged goods. But it also makes you a little bit more anxious while biting into it. But overall the food was delicious and it’s crazy seeing the servers grab the hot rice with their hands and make the hand rolls right in front of you.

Went here for lunch the other day for the first time. The rolls were on the pricey side. We both got the 5 hand roll combo and it tasted decent, the seaweed was very crispy, but the portions seemed a bit small. The fact that there was only the two of us and we had their $15 gift card, they said they had to charge us 16% tax on top. That was not mentioned on the giftcard or anywhere so I felt scammed by them.

We came here twice during their late night happy hour, once on a regular weekday, and then once on a Friday night. It was a lot more busy on Friday, but still no line/wait when we arrived. Plenty of free mall parking at night time too. I liked the parallel wood panels on the ceiling, but the clear view of the gated/closed, but super brightly lit Uniqlo out the window was a bit of an eyesore. Servers were all friendly and helpful.

We got the virgin lychee berry drink, aburi oshi sushi (both salmon and ebi), as well several hand rolls (pickled vegetables, truffle lobster, scallop, ora king salmon). The virgin lychee berry was really tasty, but most of the drink was composed of ice, so you get through it way faster than anticipated.

Aburi oshi sushi were BOGO during happy hour, and they were delicious! I personally preferred the salmon over shrimp.

As for the hand rolls…the first time we went, we felt that the rice was a bit cold, so it was pretty jarring to bite into compared to other hand rolls we’ve had at other places prior. This second time we were here though, they were made a lot better. My favourite was the scallop, followed next by the truffle lobster (truffle flavour could be reduced a bit for a better balanced taste though).

This was my first time at Hello Nori. I cam here because they have a great online reputation. A staff member recommended the $31 set menu, which included 5 meticulously prepared hand rolls: negitoro, yellowtail, Hokkaido scallop, snow crab, and truffle lobster. The service was excellent. Every hand roll was made right in front of me by the friendly chefs, served with crispy nori and warm, delicate sushi rice. A very polite female staff member recommended the “Lychee zen,” a non-alcoholic beverage made with their cold-brewed matcha and whole lychees. This mocktail was a perfectly balanced drink and ideal for sipping between each of the beautifully presented temaki rolls.

First time dining at a Hello Nori (using a $15 anniversary gift card they gave away as part of a promo earlier this year). Unique experience, and it’s nice that the chef prepares the hand rolls based on each diner’s own eating pace. I ordered the 6-Hand Roll set menu ($36), and my friend had their 4-Hand Roll set menu ($25). We were disappointed with the Negitoro, which lacked filling, and felt a little flat, even with the green onion garnish. The Spicy Shrimp was marinated well, but there was a small shell that they had to spit out after eating. Our overall favourites were the Snow Crab, King Salmon, Truffle Lobster, and Yellowtail. Better filling to rice ratio. We’re not used to hand rolls, so the warmed rice was not what we’re used to, but it ate well with the fish.

We went at opening (11 am) on a Tuesday and were the only diners until around noon. Counter seating only. Service was friendly. The price point is rather high for the quantity of food, but the atmosphere is modern (beautiful wood design that adorns the wall and ceiling) and you’re paying for the quality and experience. They also have sashimi, aburi oshi, drinks, and you can get the hand rolls à la carte. I think the set menu is a good place to start, however. Wouldn’t be an everyday spend, but perhaps for a special occasion. They also have a happy hour special and are likely more popular in the evenings.

The seaweed was very good, it was overall expensive, especially the hand rolls. I was a bit surprised that the edamame was cold. The sashimi was pretty fire!! They wrapped the squid with shiso and it was quite nice and creamy. It was all bar seating and we didn’t need to make a reservation.

What a fun and delicious place! Casual counter seating in a modern and open, arboreal vibe, located in Richmond Centre. We dined during the in-between meal hours as a light snack. What makes this experience so good is eating the rolls fresh, while the nori is crunchy and the rice is warm before it softens the nori. The chef makes the rolls right in front of you. My favorite was the truffle lobster roll, which has a nice balance of truffle without overpowering the lobster. King salmon, yellowtail, and bluefin tuna came in a tie for second place. The staff was friendly and helpful. Check them out!

Hello Nori is always a fun experience and this one in Richmond Center is no exception. Came in on a weekend just before noon, and by noon, it was packed!

They have a generous happy hour at during the day on weekdays and late nights everyday, including 50% off drinks.

The truffle lobster roll is a personal favourite and one of the best on the menu. Definitely a must try!

Bought to-go as I had to run to the airport. Ordered over the phone and the staff was really nice and helpful with answering my questions.
The food was fresh (especially the real wasabi!) made such the difference.
I got the bento box combo for $45. For light eaters this is good for 2 people.
Thankful to my friend for the recommendation.
