Not too far off the main highway. Definitely an old school BBQ place. The ribs were a little overdone. They were dropped on the plate as a mixture of meat and bone. They tasted ok, but definitely more of a stew. The slaw was full of pickles; strange to me but pretty good. The Brunswick Stew was, well… stew. Good tea. They put a whole pitcher on the table along with an entire loaf of white bread. Pie for dessert. Didn’t seem home made, but was ok just the same. The folks were nice and would probably return, but will continue my search for the best BBQ.

The food was really, really good! You get a lot , and I definitely took home enough for dinner the next day! I was a bit turned off by the attitude of the woman behind the counter. Hopefully, she was just having a tough day.

Down home country atomospher where if you leave the table hungry it’s your own fault. Enjoy the food, the people here are awesome. One big happy family that welcomes you right into their world. If you ever in the area and don’t stop here there’s nobody to blame but yourself. (Friday-Sunday 9am-8pm). Don’t forget to say hello to Spanky, he greets everyone that shows up. (This was also Stella’s Roadhouse in Sweet Home Alabama)

The BBQ is meh. It’s Vinegar based with the runniest sauce I’ve ever seen. It’s a cool place to stop and take pictures of the stuff but I wouldn’t come back for the food.

Not sure at all how they are getting away with calling that bbq food. Or even being able to operate as a business that serves food to the public. Not even smoked at all. They have a small fire going to give the illusion of smoked. No clue what they are doing. Shocked after the 40 years she claimed they were there, that they can’t even get anythjng right. Total con of a bbq restaurant if I’ve ever eaten at one. Shame because the restaurant is cool. Needs a lot of work and redecorating. Felt like Deliverance in there. The energy was dead. It was really sad. The workers were like dead souls in there. Strange vibe. They should be shut down by health department also. Absolutely insane. Whoever said it was the best bbq is obviously a fake review because no one would ever dare say that after one bite. Shameful. Close your doors or sell it to someone who will make real bbq. Anything would be better than what’s happening here. This is said by someone who grew up working in restaurants.

Step back in time at Heavy’s Barbecue, the interior of this restaurant is like stepping into the old south. Very friendly staff and a heap of portion for your buck!
