This was our first visit. It was okay, definitely a dive restaurant serving breakfast and lunch. The decor is in disarray, lights needed replaced, walls painted, etc – total dive feel. But we went for the food, so the decor didn’t weigh in all that much. They have a simple menu with plenty to choose from. I ended up piece-mealing my breakfast together; two french toast, sausage, and hash browns. The French toast was a disappointment with it being dry on the inside, very little egg on the outside and absolutely flavorless but the sausage was pretty good and the hash browns were tasty. The coffee was better than average but we are coffee snobs, so that probably doesn’t count for too much either. Overall, I think this place could really be a gem if they’d add a few specialty items to the menu and clean it up to appeal to the masses more.

The Heartland Cafe is very hit or miss in terms of service and quality of food. I’ve had a very good breakfast and on a different occasion waited a very long time in a empty restaurant for a meal. The restaurant decor is in disarray which means the owner doesn’t put any money back into the business. Too me, the old adage “if the person looks dirty than they probably don’t shower” reigns true here as well. If the restaurant looks dirty to the customer then what does the kitchen look like? I’d recommend going someplace different.

Food was pretty good. A little over priced, but good. They ran out of corn beef hash, brought out the rest of the food and informed us they someone had run to the store to get more. Guess that was cool, but by the time they got back and cooked it, everyone was done. We were still charged full price on that plate. The “owners daughter” honestly, idk who she really was, but she was extremely rude to our waitress when she had asked her a question.

The Heartland Cafe was wonderful! The good was super, the atmosphere is nice. My biscuits were underdone, but that’s not a huge huge deal. My only wish is that the servers were a tiny bit more attentive. We had Miss Hannah and she was lovely, truly.

They’re food is do good. Large quantity at an affordable price. Small quite cafe. The staff is a little strange and you have to go up to the counter for refills. I would have rated 5 stars but it takes a really long time to get the food.

We tried this place for lunch one afternoon after seeing some of these good reviews. Totally baffled how anyone has had a good experience here recently. Food was completely inedible. It left a really gross taste in our mouths afterwards for hours. I went home and brushed my teeth and still could taste it. The whole restaurant is really run down and dirty looking. I can over look appearances if the food makes up for it. That was definitely not the case here. The employees seem very unhappy too. Several of them were loudly complaining about not getting paid on time, not getting paid enough, and that the manager/owner/etc was lazy. When our waitress gave our order to the kitchen we could hear someone in the kitchen loudly yelling that they didn’t know where to find one of our items we ordered. That probably should have been our first clue to get the heck out of there. All around bad vibes coming from here and gross food on top. Literally couldn’t wait to pay and go home.

I have been eating at this cafe since c. 1979 under various names and owners. The present owner is a sweetheart. The atmosphere is family-like. The dress is informal. The food is wonderful and the price is super affordable. Now…1/2 order of biscuits and gravy, crispy hashbrown potatoes, an over-easy egg, coffee, and a glass of water is the order. If you bring the kids they can color a picture and staff will staple it on the wall.

If you want glitz and glamour then don’t go here but if you just want to enjoy a nice meal come on in. My wife and I decided to try Patty’s for breakfast. The biscuits were nice and fluffy, the country fried steak was just right and the hash browns were delicious! I felt like the waitresses came by often enough to keep our drinks filled but not so much that you get annoyed. As others have said, good down home food.

Food was good, need to clean up the dead flies on the window sill – yes, they are aware of the problem (if u know about it be more attentive) and they don’t have kids cups or lids with straw holes?! I have a 3 and 4 yr old and yes, we had a spill from the coffee spout of a lid bc saying “dont tip” doesn’t always work. Those were my only 2 complaints, the waitress was great, good cafe atmosphere.
