I’ve been here a few times in the recent past (starting 4-5 years ago), but something has changed, and now I can honestly say that I was totally blown away by absolutely everything at Hayat’s this time. The food was better than I have ever before tasted, fresher, tastier, more visually appealing, more memorable, the hummus lighter than ever, awesome desserts. The service was so friendly that I really wanted to stay all night. This place has always been back there in the corner, out of view and easy to overlook. My brother and I exclaimed to each other that we need to get back here way more often. That will mean a lot coming from me, since I live out of state. I highly recommend this place, even if you are vegetarian.

Went with a Lebanese friend. Heard great things before going. The food overall was solid but not the best Lebanese food by any stretch.

They have a great lunch spread. They have vegan food, pescatarian, and omnivore selection even if you haven’t had Mediterranean dishes yet. The pita bread could have been served without the plastic bag from the store. The baklava dessert selection is very good too but not for honey allergic persons. definitely authentic Armanian food. Will have to try other dishes there

I nearly always get the same thing – the vegetarian plate.

A must-visit when it comes to Lebanese food in LA. The kibbeh is outstanding. If you’re not sure what to order, ask for their recommendations, they’ll steer you right. Family-friendly outdoor seating; not uncommon to see large groups of folks with hookahs lit chilling for long stays at this Valley staple. Outstanding food.

In one word “Ok”. Just regular Arab food nothing extraordinary in my opinion. We ordered lamb chops and grill – family dish. Could have been lot better. Rice was soaking with oil. They gave a very small bowl of pickles when we arrived. Definitely it wasn’t enough for four people. We were going to ask for more but decided not to. But they should have brought at least two small bowls of pickles. We told server to make beef kebabs medium well done and lamb chops medium rare but he brought us lamb chops well done and beef kebabs medium rare. Also they were giving pita bread in plastic bags. They could’ve just cut those pita bread and serve it that way. That would’ve been much more presentable. Hummus was good I have to say. Beside hummus nothing were good. Just ok food. They should have made their restaurant bit more visible though. It was hard to know there is a restaurant.

Love this restaurant. The staff here is fantastic. Their food – delicious. I haven’t visited this place in many years and it is obvious that nothing has changed. The food is still the same. Home cooked goodness in every bite, not to mention the dessert display case…. heavenly. You honestly feel like you are dining at home. They bring customary pickled cucumbers and turnips to the table. Couldn’t be better than that. Their hummus and garlic sauce is delicious, too. You have to try their Spinach Pies – my new found favorite!

What a gem. Has a very family run operation vibe which gives you the sense they really care. Shared feast for two with our two toddlers and had lots of food. Appetizer sampler was delicious, great hummus (from someone that often doesn’t like it). Lots of meat on the entree, steak wasn’t really medium rare but lamb kabob was insane. Yogurt/cheese dip was amazing. Sadly we took baklava to go and it fell on walk to car so we’ll have to go back again. Loved fresh mint tea. Really sweet waitress. Overall a very positive and yummy experience. Probably half of the seating is outside so plan ahead with coats etc in case it’s busy. Can’t wait to return. Good for kids and groups.

The relatively new girl working there is wonderful she works tirelessly and with the best attitude. The food still tastes the same after all these years. You can’t miss with this place. The dessert with cheese was not that great. The thin regular baklavas they have are the best.
