My wife picked up Chinese food from Hat’s restaurant in Medicine Hat and it was excellent. She ordered the almond chicken with gravy (which was our favourite), ginger beef, sweet and sour boneless pork, beef and broccoli, Hat’s fried rice and Singapore rice noodles. Everything was fresh, tasty, had large portions and was not greasy.
They have all you can eat in their restaurant, but we have only had takeout so far. Fantastic Chinese food in Medicine Hat.

Ordered chicken fried rice. Had a chicken bone bigger than 1″ by 1″. Added photo. Also ordered chicken chow mein without sprouts or lettuce and that got ignored. Last time i order from this place.

Got takeout and it was super lackluster. We had the chow mein and honey garlic pork, and both were nothing to write home about. Both dishes had a metallic taste to it, and were very bland. Especially the chow mein. I added my own salt and soya sauce and it improved it, but only slightly. We had leftovers so I ate mine cold and it was honestly better cold than it was hot.
Probably won’t be back again, but I would stop short of telling people not to go there. Many seem to like it.

Ken was our server and he was Amazing. It was out first visit and we were Very Happily surprised. The food was tasty with lots of variety and because it’s busy its replenished before it’s empty.
You will not be disappointed.
The Jasmine green tea was the best we ever had.
PS they don’t use MSG.

Ordered for the first time this weekend. The food was extremely tasteless and low effort. The chicken chow mein was just cooked noodles with a few scraps of lettuce. Zero flavour or sauce. Won’t be returning.

In terms of the food, it’s pretty much what to expect for catering to local tastes rather than being authentic. Make no question about it, the owners speak Mandarin.
It’s fine for going to casual place but found it gloomy, lighting is off, and the interior decor is certainly from the 1980’s, lots of brown lol. No big windows at all, let’s put it that way.
They do delivery.

I’ve eaten at hats for years , Take out and dine in. usually its 4/5. Last Friday I ordered $78 worth of takeout or should I say garbage?. Absolutely some of the worst food I’ve ever had. The egg rolls had absolutely no filling. The Singapore style rice noodle usually has green peppers, red peppers, chicken pieces, carrot slivers, and cabbage. This basically had noodles and a fried egg in it. None and I mean NONE of the other ingredients. It was gross and MUSHY while swimming in oil!!!The pork was dry, my dog wouldn’t even eat it. Are you?

I have to admit that when I was invited to eat CHINESE food at a restaurant named HAT’S RESTAURANT and saw their logo was a COWBOY HAT, I had my doubts about what I would see inside.
I am SO GLAD that I came here! It is a buffet with fresh food and tons of variety. You won’t find old food sitting here as you might in other buffets. In fact, they had a whole turkey that they allow the customers to carve up themselves.
Even though it is a buffet, our server was on top of serving us. She refilled our drinks or hot water multiple times and cleared our dishes quickly. She was quite impressive.
The interior is a bit dated, but it works. The price for buffet is reasonable too.
The super long meridian on the street in front means you have to travel a ways after seeing the restaurant, then loop back through the parking lot. Don’t Worry your Google map is not wrong.
PRO TIP- Careful when backing out. I noticed csrs seem to drive a bit quickly through this lot.
I will come back.

I had a great experience at Hanam Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and tasted homemade — especially the koobideh kebab and eggplant stew. The restaurant was clean and cozy, and the staff were very polite and welcoming. I’ll definitely come back again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Persian food in Vancouver.
