No cocktails for me this morning. Tried the waffles and honey hot chicken, waffle was ok not the fluffiest I’ve ever had and the honey hot wings were nice and crispy but could have used more hot flavor for me. I’d return to try and cocktail and something different.
I would say a worthwhile spot.
Our server, Juanita, was the best and I hope I get her next time I eat her. She’s a real gem.
I woke up this past Sunday with a serious breakfast craving, so I decided to finally check out Hash Kitchen on Northern Ave. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, but wow—this is definitely not your average breakfast spot. It was a trendy surprise to find this level of energy and upscale quality right here in Peoria.
The vibe is absolutely phenomenal. We dined outside, and even though it was January, the patio was perfectly comfortable thanks to their outdoor heating lamps. They have a fantastic setup with a full-size bar that services both the indoor and outdoor seating areas, creating a really cohesive and lively atmosphere.
As for the food, the menu is massive and incredibly creative. I ordered their unique spin on Chicken and Waffles, and it did not disappoint. The presentation is super fun, the chicken was seasoned perfectly, and it really elevates a classic dish. I also had my eye on the Chilaquiles—they are usually a favorite of mine and looked absolutely delicious on the tables next to us!
Beyond what we ordered, Hash Kitchen is famous for some truly original concepts. You can’t miss the massive Build-Your-Own Bloody Mary Bar—it’s a total showstopper. I also saw waiters carrying out orders of Cannoli Donuts and the Hangover Hash, which are definitely popular for a reason. I was also happy to see they didn’t leave out my vegetarian friends; there were several thoughtful plates and specials catering specifically to them, rather than just basic side dishes.
The service was top-tier—attentive, friendly, and fast despite how busy they were.
The only things to be aware of: it is a bit on the pricey side. You should look to spend about $35-40 per person for a full meal and a drink. Also, a small heads-up if you are ordering non-alcoholic drinks: there are no free refills on the mocktails, which was the only slight downfall of the experience.
Overall, Hash Kitchen delivers on the “trendy upscale” promise with original dishes you won’t find at a standard diner. Highly recommended if you are in the P83 district
The food was phenomenal and unique, the service was top notch, and the atmosphere was so fun! Thanks Lola for the stellar recommendations.
