I gave it 3 stars because I feel like this place is hit or miss. The first time I went, I had no problems except that I noticed the portion size is much smaller than other Harold’s I’ve been to. I extended them grace saying they were new and they’re located in OP which I’m sure is not inexpensive to rent but my last visit just didn’t do it for me.

Chiiiiild! You have to wash the chicken before you cook it. I purchased a 6 piece wings with sauce on the side. I dropped my son at an event in the area, waited in the car until he was done. I lit in to grub on chicken. First couple of bites, I noticed the chicken had a funky smell, kind of like old blood. I immediately spit it out. I said to myself, this chicken was not washed properly. I didn’t feel like the going back and forth with the establishment, whether or not the chicken was fresh or even a refund. Some establishments hate to give you back your money. I guess they feel they are losing $$$ in the end. That area is super busy and conjested, didn’t feel like the pressure. so I just nibbled on the fries. I will never patronize them again! That is very serious! WASH THE CHICKEN!!!!!!! And this is a fairly new establishment.

Can’t even comment on the food because my order was never filled. They say they don’t offer online ordering but will take your money after you use the “spot on” online ordering option on their website. All this wouldn’t be an a super huge issue if the workers were helpful and the manager/owner wasn’t such a jerk. Save your money, go to KFC or Popeyes.

Decent fried chicken. Nothing too special about it. I recommend the lemon pepper seasoning on it. They should really add salt to the fries before they serve them. Atmosphere is not the best, but most people took the food to go to make up for it. Maybe the restaurant could get a redesign to not have a line of people going through the tables. Also being right in front of the theater, it gets the vibrant flashing lights that make Lake Street shine.

This Harold’s is hit or miss. Sometimes they’re good, sometimes they’re not. A few things I’ve noticed consistently is the fries are dry and don’t have enough sauce, and they never give coleslaw with the wing dinners although it’s supposed to be included.

I ordered the chicken and shrimp combo. It comes with slaw, fries, bread, hot sauce, and ketchup. The shrimp was great. Jumbo sized jumbo shrimp, thickly breaded and fries. The fries were good, crispy and creamy inside. The chicken was bland and a little overcooked. The bread was just a piece of white bread. I didn’t get my slaw. It also took 25 minutes to make my order. So, don’t go if you’re in a rush.
