I have seen this place for decades but never stopped by until a friend told me how great the food is. I’ve gone three times in the past month and he’s right, I LOVE IT!!! The grits are hot and creamy, the scrambled eggs are soft, the bacon is not burnt, the place is super clean and the folks are super nice. I’m going to keep on going because I simply LOVE it!!! ♥️

This place is awesome. I can sit here and just enjoy a cup of coffee with food or get some take out. The atmosphere is pure Oakland. Love this place and the people that run it. Tasty, affordable and great portions. You can call and order ahead as well if you’re in a rush. Thank you for being here. Love this place!

Cute, quaint, family owned and run breakfast and lunch house. It’s tiny but your greeted when you walk in, food is fresh, simple. Ordered teriyaki chicken omelette, served hot with hash browns and toast. Overall a great place for comfort food. Nothing fancy but dependable, quality food and service.

2 corn dogs, 5.60. took maybe 10 minutes, and they were great! very fresh and crispy. servers are charming and brought it out with ketchup and mustard. great sense of community. seems to be Asian owned and run but the menu is short and simple and all american except for the teriyaki. only downside is no restrooms.

Great breakfast, cafe. They have a nice selection of combos, ala carte, and sandwiches. A big plus they have Pete’s Coffee and a nice selection of tea. You can sit at the counter or in a booth. Down side, no bathroom. You can get anything from a traditional egg and bacon as well as a non pork/turkey breakfast to a pastrami sandwich with egg. The grits are prepared just right with lots of good butter. A good mix of to go orders as well as dine in. Healthy portions.

I mean this is the perfect breakfast restaurant. Good food, good prices, and good customer service. So don’t be stingy about dropping a tip.

Food is great! However they never answer their phones so you can’t order ahead to pick up you end up having to wait in their tiny parking lot for the food. Also they close early some days with no heads up and they’ll turn you away.

Happy Dog is probably one of the greatest breakfast joints in Oakland, near Foothill Square shopping center

I greatly advise stopping in and giving it a try, there’s nothing I’ve ever been disappointed in ordering since I’ve been coming about seven or so years ago, on and off.

The staff are all friendly, but make it before the 20 minutes til close time, they usually lock doors if there’s a big enough lull, as I would do if I owned a place like this

Again, heavily advise checking it out
