Great local diner on the West side. Portuguese sausage was perfect. Fried rice was good. Pretty much everything at tasty and delicious. Great for local or mainland kind of breakfast. Super reasonable pricing.

My brother-in-law says this is a fantastic place to eat. Good location, restaurant is clean, prices are pretty good for Hawaii.

This old school Hawaiian diner is a hidden gem. They specialize in Hawaiian and Korean food along with diner basics. The best bulgogi I’ve ever had. Coconut pancakes are also good.

Delicious local Hawaiian and Korean fusion restaurant. The portions are huge!! Friendly and helpful staff. My first time trying chili loco moco and it did not disappoint. Must go if you are in the area

Check your ticket carefully—you might be getting ripped off.

We ate here and had multiple issues with both our order and the bill. Our waitress messed up two different orders. First, we ordered a Bulgogi burger with a side of rice, which on the menu should cost around $12. Instead, the kitchen brought out a completely different plate that costs $18, and we were charged for the more expensive item even though it wasn’t what we ordered.

Then we ordered a kids’ meal, but somehow we were given a full adult plate, which was significantly more expensive than the kids option we actually asked for. Because of these mistakes, our bill should have been somewhere around $35. However, when I went up front to pay, the total they charged us was $60.

When I questioned the total, the staff looked at me like I was the one doing something wrong. To make matters worse, they don’t provide a proper printed receipt. Everything is written down on their own order pad and you’re basically expected to just accept whatever total they write down.

When I asked why we were being charged $18 for a kids plate when the menu clearly didn’t list that price, the response I got was: “Well, did you eat it?” I explained that no, we didn’t, because it was an adult-sized meal and the order was meant for a child. It’s not the customer’s fault when the staff brings the wrong plate out. On top of that, we were also given the wrong bulgogi plate and still charged an extra for it.

To make the experience even worse, the food itself wasn’t good at all. Everything we were given was cold and sloppy, like it had been sitting around before being served. Between the poor food quality and the constant mistakes with the order and pricing, the whole experience felt incredibly frustrating.

Between the incorrect orders, inflated charges, lack of a real receipt, and the dismissive attitude when we asked about it, the whole situation felt shady. Check your bill carefully if you go here.

Honestly, between the bad service, bad food, and questionable billing, this place felt like a complete rip-off. I would strongly recommend going somewhere else.

The food is delicious. I had the Kalua Pork and cabbage. Portions are appropriate for the money. In fact, I took the rest to go and got two meals out of it. I appreciate the casual, yet quality, approach of the restaurant and that it is local vibes rather than tourist. There were a number of flies during our entire time eating inside the restaurant.

My haole family has gone 2 years in a row to Hanaras for breakfast on our trip. We love the pancakes and the kind staff. The prices are are great for the value. The macadamia nut pancakes are my favorite and my wife was fortunate enough to be recommended the pork and squash soup on our first visit (thanks Cindy). If you’re in the area check it out!

I’ll vouch that whatever BAD reviews this place has was from people who don’t know local eats and didn’t know what to order too bad they didn’t enjoy their experience BUT that’s just one out of many.

The Korean plate is one of my favorites. Service is always great. Prices are good and the portions are large. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and nothing disappoints.

I’m delighted that we stumbled upon this place. Its historical ambiance is truly unique. The menu offers a wide selection at reasonable prices. The burger steak with gravy is not only delicious but also generously portioned, making it great value for two.
They don’t serve any alcoholic beverages.

At the advice of a friend who grew up nearby and needing to kill some time to beat traffic, I gave it a try. I’m a big fan of shoyu potatoes and I loves me a good hamburger steak. These were his recommendations. I gotta say – they did not disappoint! It’s a charming old style diner with old style service and patrons, families. Nuff said, just go and try the food, then roll home for a nap. Onolicious! ✌️
