El Gran Patron is a fantastic restaurant that stands out for its cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly, attentive, and make you feel right at home. The food is absolutely delicious, with authentic flavors that really impressed me. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick meal or a relaxed dining experience, I highly recommend El Gran Patron. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

I’ve eaten here about 5 times over 3 years because it’s very close to my house and the experience is always the same. The margaritas are made in bulk and poured from a large dispenser. They seem to be watered down (with water, ugh) and very little alcohol or flavor. They are served in plastic rather than glass. It’s very bright in the restaurant and so it feels very cafeteria like. We always have gone at about 9 and they close at 10 and so from 9-10 they are cleaning up all around you and you will feel very rushed. Now having said all of that, we ordered the fajitas tonight and the food was excellent. Very flavorful. This restaurant has never been busy and we have only been there on a Friday or Saturday. Probably it’s not busy because of the lights and the poor drinks and the staff cleaning…, Sad because if they fixed the atmosphere and other issues, it would probably be very successful because the food is great.

We had excellent service. We had a table of 12 that was ready when we got there. We got there a little bit late and they were on it. The food was fantastic they had a very considerate chef. I requested vegetable fajitas and no cheese or sour cream and they came out with black beans instead of refried beans which if you know anything about veganism then a lot of times the refried beans have lard in it so I thought that was very conscientious of the chef. All the other food looked delicious no complaints from our table. The drinks were fantastic and the waiting staff was fast.

We’ve probably been here 20+ times and honestly it’s just hard to beat. Great service, great food, and the prices are on point. I honestly cannot think of a bad meal at this place. It can get a little loud in there sometimes when a large gathering or party is going on but for the most part is a great evening dinner place with friends.

Table was dirty- just needed to be wiped better. But it’s still a turnoff. The Table salsa was way too sweet. At a Mexican restaurant you expect something a little spicy, not sweet ,for chips. Also all the dinners need better plating , put a bit of shredded lettuce and Pico De Gallo on the side to brighten up the bland boring colors of brown beans & white flour tortillas & sauce on the plate. It goes good with anything! Also I wish Mexican restaurants would use more Cheddar cheese in their enchiladas instead of Queso asadero or whatever white cheese they use which is thick, gummy and has a gross texture on the teeth. Cheddar mixed with Monterey Jack would be more colorful and taste better. It’s more Tex Mex but It looks & tastes better. It may also be cheaper . The enchiladas were a weird texture too, they were not soft like they should be, it didn’t seem like they were cooked at all in oil, just baked maybe? They were just too hard & dry for an enchilada whatever they did to them, would not get them again. The ground beef filling tasted like a cheap grade of beef ( really cheap smelled like dog food) Also don’t want it again especially in a taco. Put some lettuce, cheese and tomato on the tacos. The chicken was ok and could have been good except for the hard dry shell. The Enchilada sauce was bland and nothing to write home about. My advice- plate your dishes better to make them more appetizing. Spice up the table salsa. Use a variety of cheeses in your cheese enchiladas, tacos, burritos and other dishes. Upgrade your ground beef. Clean up the place.

Drinks were great, food was good and came out fast. I got a michelada and it was so tasty, and just had the perfect amount of spicy and savory. I also got the fried chicken chimichangas topped with guacamole and sour cream followed with a side of beans. Dish was full of flavor and everything tasted fresh. I will definitely be back.

I had the lunch #10. Soft, Chicken CHIMICHANGA, topped with cheese sauce, lettuce, tomatoes served with rice and beans. I’m not a sour cream fan so I did not get that but I did get the guacamole. The food was tasty. I will return and get other items in the future.
Sat at the bar night. Food was very good and the service was exceptional. Great for family outings.
