The restaurant is very large and has two floors. Apparently an area to accommodate large parties as that evening, they were hosting to a soccer group. Unfortunately I didn’t take pics of the interior, next time and then I’ll update this review. There is ample parking in the outside lot. When we visited, they were not serving beer. Something about the brewery (the actual brewery for H&H told them they couldn’t serve beer at the moment). It’s the new building just a stones throw from restaurant.
They do have outdoors dining downstairs for those who bring their pup, plus a large bar on the main floor. Seating is booths and tables. Very casual dining! Our food was pretty good. The Brisket Melt was yummy but a bit too greasy for me. Apparently it a fan favorite so of course we had to try it.
Our son-in-laws Buffalo melt looked great and he said it was. Also the servings were very large and enough to share. Loved the giant pretzel!! It wasn’t too greasy like some I’ve enjoyed. Our server was kind and attentive. I would have to assume that it can get pretty noisy, but on the night we went, it wasn’t very crowded except for the soccer group but they were pretty separate from the main dining facility. I’d have to say, with a BIG group to feed, our orders came out pretty quickly. Love that this brewery is close to our home so we will definitely return.
For starters….this is a taphouse and not a brewery. They say they are still setting up their brewery, but still, lets call a spade a spade for now.
Their tap selection is vast. A very good selection of beers and ciders, with more, in to-go cans.
We ordered the classic poutine and what a mistake that was. Nothing was seasoned, the gravy was as thick as jello and just as unseasoned. We wanted to order dinner, but were worried that the rest of the menu was going to be just as unseasoned.
The service wasn’t as fast as my first drink was empty for over a good 5 minutes before we saw our waitress Sophia again, but she was very nice, polite, and very helpful with the menues. With that said, this place has multiple levels and outside seating…and I’m not sure if she had tables elsewhere.
They appear to be a Greenbay Packers house and that was great….even if I’m not a huge fan, but screw Cinci.
The drinks were served cold and fast, after ordering….and their options are vast, as I stated earlier.
Not sure how long they have been opened, but there are still some issues to work out.
My wife and I decided that we will have to return in about 6 months or so…..we have high hopes.
Pics will be added as soon as Google gives me the option.
If we were treated the same way as I was at this place everywhere else we went, those of us with a gluten issue would find eating out a much more pleasurable event!
The waitress answered our questions quickly and with very apparent knowledge of the subject, and the chef himself even came out to speak with us after our order was placed. He was very knowledgeable on cross contamination and the steps required to reduce the risk as much as possible in a kitchen that serves both options. I realize that a personal chef visit can’t happen every time, but it was certainly a neat surprise that helped further set my mind at ease.
The food was amazing, and the service was great as well. The staff all seemed very well informed on how to handle the gluten questions that we had. The atmosphere and building itself were impressive. They have a large dog friendly patio with covered seating options that has both fans and heaters, and we saw a waitress bring out a water bowl for a dog that came in with some other customers. We left wishing we had more places like this back home. We will definitely visit again whenever we’re in town!
Cons: Everything else. Drinks took 15 minutes before they came out(draft beer and a simple gin). Food took over an hour to arrive. Went Friday around 6pm but only about 60% full. I knew something was wrong around 30 minutes after ordering no one around us had gotten their food either. You know that feeling of seeing plates come out and saying “ooh that looks yummy”.? That never happened as the kitchen was “backed up” as we were told.
The food only came out after the third request and finally telling the waitress we’d have to cancel as we had to get our kid to bed.
This place is not cheap but the quality of the food sure was. Only was able to stomach few bites of the burger as it was like eating a charcoal briquette with melted cheese on a kroger croissant. Tater Tots were the kind you were fed in elementary school cafeteria.
You can tell they have the vibe right, the big space and the fancy menu but the food just doesn’t reflect what the menu portrays.
Maybe they are on-boarding a new cook?
Oh man, where are my Tums?
