Practically a Witco museum carrying the burden of a vast and extensive Tiki drinks menu (it’s seriously like a phonebook!).

Drinks are awesome and the space itself is worth the visit to walk around and take in the vibes and history. A gem of a Tiki Bar!

Fun and atmospheric tiki bar, massive menu with plenty of delicious options, fast and friendly service. Barrel of Bananas was a less sweet and stronger option, while Mai Chai was sweeter and less strong. Sweet potato and taro chips and pineapple and mango salsas are all great, can’t go wrong. Went for the chocolate and standard Kokomos and both were awesome, fairly light and sweet – chocolate overpowers a bit, while the standard is a perfect balance of Amaretto and coconut. Wanila Niu shot is fun, and Lava Flo is a super-tasty treat!

What a lovely place! The atmosphere was cozy and wonderful, the service was super kind and friendly, I’m so glad I went there because I had a really nice time. Food was amazing, the pineapple dip makes my mouth water from just thinking about it. There’s Christmas themed drinks that come in lovely cups for the season. Great spot!

I didn’t come here for the food, but for the drinks. I sat at the bar and the decorations, mood lighting and music are great. They definitely had a wide variety of drink options with and without alcohol. If I’m ever in the area again, I will stop by!

Hala Kahiki has been a mainstay in the tiki community for years, and it definitely lives up to its reputation. I’ve been a few times now, and the drinks are consistently great—balanced, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The décor is exactly what you hope for in a classic tiki bar, and the experience starts the moment you pull up and see the building lit up from the outside. Inside, the atmosphere feels timeless, with lots of detail to take in. It’s a spot I always enjoy returning to and one I’d recommend to anyone looking for an authentic tiki experience.

No food options unless you THRIVE with chips. They are good chips I’ll give it tht (veggie ones are yummy!), the fact they’re $10 each, not so much. The drinks are yummy, but all the normal 10-20 (mainly pushing the 20ish). The non-liquor ones are good, but only get you like 5$ off the full with liquor price. Your going to a bar so you kinda know what to expect. They certainly are themed well though lots of options visually and with the drinks. Bought a pufferfish (figure) up front so that’s nice haha. Can get food down the block afterwards.

Just fly in for the weekend and we stopped by on the way back from the airport. We got there early and parking was a breeze. There is free street parking along the front and down the side of the residential area. The atmosphere is great with the decor being very Polynesian. The weather was nice and we sat outside in the back covered outside area. They have fans to circulate the air. We got the edamame for a snack and had a couple of drinks. The wait staff was fantastic and very friendly. it drinks were fantastic and strong enough for what you get. I got the Hala Kahiki and love the glasses it came in. It tasted great and was definitely strong enough. I’ll be coming back next time. I visit Chicago.

We visited Hala Khaki on a trip, recommend to us by from locals and let me tell you it did not disappoint. As an avid Tiki goer it is a must. Go to drink choice? A 1934 Zombie!

Loved the place & vibe. Best to enjoy drinks either with partner or a group of friends. Tried various drinks and loved all of them. Wish they had food (snack/appetizers)

Let me be the latest to say that my friends and I have enjoyed Hala Kahiki for years. I used to drive past here with my dad before I turned 21, and it was among the first bars I wanted to visit when I became of age. I don’t live in Illinois anymore, but try to make a stop here whenever I visit. It’s the perfect atmosphere for an intimate date or just a night out with friends. The drinks aren’t cheap, but they taste great and there is an amazing variety. I’m so glad Hala Kahiki has remained open after all these years.
