First time trying Gyu-Kaku, and overall it was good, though a few small details kept it from being a great experience. For the all you can eat option, you can choose from different tiers of meats and sides, but it is a bit pricier compared to your typical KBBQ spots. I thought the meat quality was solid, and the variety of marinades was nice. some were really good, while others were just okay or a bit too salty. The sauces definitely helped bring everything together though!

You also get to choose sides like veggies, miso soup, karaage, edamame, and more. I tried the garlic shio cabbage, but it ended up being way too salty for my taste. Service was decent, they changed the grills frequently and refilled our water often. There were a few moments when we had to ask again for sides we ordered, but nothing too major. It’s a nice touch that they end the meal with s’mores and ice cream. Overall, a good experience if you’re craving Japanese BBQ with plenty of options to choose from.

Place looks a bit run down. The seats have rips, china is chipped, portions of the space look messy.

We went for the weekday lunch special.

Price was reasonable

Couple of dishes were good but mostly average. I had to adjust the grill temperature since the food just wasn’t cooking.

My friend took me here for my birthday. We had the best bbq with variety of seafood and meat. Wait staffs were very nice and friendly. Their chocolate desserts with matcha ice-cream were to die for. Highly recommend this place!

COCKROACHES

Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. We waited over 30 minutes just to receive our drinks, which already set a bad tone for the night.

On top of that, when we politely asked a server about a dish that never arrived, his response was extremely rude. He told us, “We know what we’re doing,” instead of offering an apology or solution.

To make matters worse, we noticed cockroaches on the walls, which is completely unacceptable and very concerning from a hygiene standpoint.

Between the long wait times, poor customer service, and serious cleanliness issues, this is not a place I would recommend. We expected much better.

I ate here as a vegetarian, along with 4 non-vegetarians. I appreciated the vegetarian options (and they tasted good!), but took away one star because they wouldn’t let the rest of my party order the all-you-can-eat meat option while I separately ordered from the vegetarian menu. Everyone at the table has to purchase all-you-can-eat, or else nobody can. So if you’re bringing a vegetarian here based on the menu options available – be aware that it will limit the ordering options for the rest of the group.

For the food it’s not that bad it’s actually good with a good price.

But for the service absolutely not. When the waiter brought out the food they just kept throwing dishes on the table like they had no care you can hear how hard they are placing food on the table.

When the waiter brought out the crispy tuna rice they placed it on the table so carelessly to the point where one fell off plate. The server didn’t even notice until we pointed it out. Instead of the replacing the whole plate of tuna crispy rice though like other places would do, they only replace the one that fell off the plate on a small sauce dish. Also the waiter didn’t even say sorry for placing down the plates rudely. They didn’t even say anything.

Meat quality was good but I will never go here again because of their lack of care to customers. If they cared about their services maybe they would take into consideration that they should place down the food with care and respect. I hope they improves this and no one else endures the carelessness that was expressed. If you’re looking for meal that’s a good price and decent taste this is the place. But if you’re having a bad day and want to eat good then don’t meet their services here it will make you more mad.

This place is great. Best to come with a group as a lot of their menu is catered around multiple people. There is an all you can eat menu or you can get a set. The items on the menu are different for each menu option. There is a lot of variety and the ingredients are very good quality. The food came out very fast and we didn’t have to wait for long. This is a BBQ place so you have to grill your own food. But the ingredients were all well prepared and ready to go. Some appetizers I have never seen before like grilled rice with tartare on top. Very happy I came here.

It my favorite steak house. If I want premium beef and lovely atmosphere, I choose Japanese BBQ every time! You make your own food. There is a grill in the middle of the serving table. Everything is house style, so you can share with others. The service is always friendly and fast. The drinks are unique and so is the food choices. My favorite is the spicy miso chicken wings, shishito peppers, and the diamond cut marinated steak pot. Soooo delicious!

Don’t have much to say, just seeing what they have to offer for a premium all you can eat combo is self-explanatory.

But FYI, would never come back for the following reasons:

I used to really enjoy this Japanese BBQ place, but it has gone completely downhill. The food quality is awful now — I literally got diarrhea right after eating, which tells you how bad it’s gotten. The grill barely works; it cooks so slowly that the meat never gets that proper sear, just ends up sitting there half-cooked.

The servers have okay attitudes, but they don’t actually do their jobs. No one came by to change the grill even once, my drink was never refilled, and they didn’t bother to replace dirty plates the whole time.

For the price they charge, this is unacceptable. Used to be one of my favorite spots, but after this visit, never again.

Three of us split the Meat Lovers BBQ combo set. It was just about the right amount of food. The service is *fast*. Plates and dishes kept coming out, and empty dishes were taken away really quickly. The stoves are great- no smoke at all. The servers also offered to replace our grates several times throughout the meal, so nothing got super charred.

The meat was mostly very good, if a little chewy. We felt like it was a little overpriced for what we got, which is fair. At $40+ per person, the portions were not overly large.

The s’mores at the end of the meal is a cute touch.

It was fun for an occasion tho.
