You also get to choose sides like veggies, miso soup, karaage, edamame, and more. I tried the garlic shio cabbage, but it ended up being way too salty for my taste. Service was decent, they changed the grills frequently and refilled our water often. There were a few moments when we had to ask again for sides we ordered, but nothing too major. It’s a nice touch that they end the meal with s’mores and ice cream. Overall, a good experience if you’re craving Japanese BBQ with plenty of options to choose from.
We went for the weekday lunch special.
Price was reasonable
Couple of dishes were good but mostly average. I had to adjust the grill temperature since the food just wasn’t cooking.
Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. We waited over 30 minutes just to receive our drinks, which already set a bad tone for the night.
On top of that, when we politely asked a server about a dish that never arrived, his response was extremely rude. He told us, “We know what we’re doing,” instead of offering an apology or solution.
To make matters worse, we noticed cockroaches on the walls, which is completely unacceptable and very concerning from a hygiene standpoint.
Between the long wait times, poor customer service, and serious cleanliness issues, this is not a place I would recommend. We expected much better.
But for the service absolutely not. When the waiter brought out the food they just kept throwing dishes on the table like they had no care you can hear how hard they are placing food on the table.
When the waiter brought out the crispy tuna rice they placed it on the table so carelessly to the point where one fell off plate. The server didn’t even notice until we pointed it out. Instead of the replacing the whole plate of tuna crispy rice though like other places would do, they only replace the one that fell off the plate on a small sauce dish. Also the waiter didn’t even say sorry for placing down the plates rudely. They didn’t even say anything.
Meat quality was good but I will never go here again because of their lack of care to customers. If they cared about their services maybe they would take into consideration that they should place down the food with care and respect. I hope they improves this and no one else endures the carelessness that was expressed. If you’re looking for meal that’s a good price and decent taste this is the place. But if you’re having a bad day and want to eat good then don’t meet their services here it will make you more mad.
But FYI, would never come back for the following reasons:
I used to really enjoy this Japanese BBQ place, but it has gone completely downhill. The food quality is awful now — I literally got diarrhea right after eating, which tells you how bad it’s gotten. The grill barely works; it cooks so slowly that the meat never gets that proper sear, just ends up sitting there half-cooked.
The servers have okay attitudes, but they don’t actually do their jobs. No one came by to change the grill even once, my drink was never refilled, and they didn’t bother to replace dirty plates the whole time.
For the price they charge, this is unacceptable. Used to be one of my favorite spots, but after this visit, never again.
The meat was mostly very good, if a little chewy. We felt like it was a little overpriced for what we got, which is fair. At $40+ per person, the portions were not overly large.
The s’mores at the end of the meal is a cute touch.
It was fun for an occasion tho.
