I’ve read a lot of great reviews about Gusanos and thought I’d try it out. Well, this is my first and last time eating here. To keep this short, the bread sticks were falling apart, the cookie sticks were burnt, and there was a hair cooked into my pizza. I’ve provided pictures as proof. My boyfriend called the restaurant to get a refund on the pizza (we hadn’t figured out the rest of the food situation until later) but since it was placed through Door Dash and picked up in person I have to deal with Door Dash now because “We can’t do anything on our end.” This all happened about 2 hours ago and I’m really hoping we can get a refund because this is just sad. I normally don’t pay $65 for disappointment but here we are.
Update: I never heard back from the manager who said he’d give me a call back. That was 3 weeks ago. No refund, either. 🙁

This place is amazing! The pizza is homemade and so fresh—you can really taste the difference. The 13-inch is perfect for sharing with one other person, and it came out super quick and hot. It’s definitely my new favorite spot!

We brought a group of about 50 people into Gusano’s in Steamboat, and they absolutely crushed it! From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch—and a huge shoutout to Michelle at the bar. She handled the crowd like a total pro, kept the drinks flowing, and somehow managed it all with a great attitude and a big smile.
The deep dish pizza was incredible—perfectly cheesy, crispy, and packed with flavor. Gusano’s nailed it on both the food and the hospitality, even with such a large group.
Highly recommend stopping in whether you’re solo, with friends, or rolling 50 deep like we did. Huge thanks to Michelle and the entire team for making it such a great experience!

The two pizzas we’ve tried, the Cheeseburger and the Lasagna (forgot the real name), were excellent. My son’s Chicken Alfredo was “okay, but not great” (direct quote). The service was decent, but the kitchen made two errors on our order for eight people. The server was apologetic and kept us up-to-date on the rest of the order. Still, it won’t keep us from returning.

As a full disclaimer we did not try the Chicago style pizzas. We ordered a taco pizza and a pepperoni and cheese (traditional crust). We were both pretty disappointed, especially for what we paid. The taco pizza was just ok. The pepperoni and cheese pizza was very very bland. I honestly would have rather eaten a frozen pizza. The crust didn’t have any flavor and there was basically no sauce on my pizza whatsoever, on a couple pieces of diced tomatoes on each slice.
I’m not really a fan of Chicago style pizza so I probably won’t ever come back.

The pizza was phenomenal. The way the crust was cooked, toppings put on, and flavor. One of the best I have ever had and I got the original 8″ crust. Only a 4star because I got an order of wings too and they were not up to my standards.
