GURSHA ETHIOPIAN GRILL characteristically consists of vegetable and often very spicy meat dishes. This is usually in the form of wat, a thick stew, served atop injera, a large sourdough flatbread, which is about 50 centimeters (20 inches) in diameter and made out of fermented teff flour.

For some travelers, we go to a Ethiopian restaurant for their unique coffee. The Natural and earthly taste is a special therapy. Bleach sugar is less expensive but it takes away from the natural taste of your product. The coffee is not available online to order neither. This is why I am displeased with the service to consider other items.

This was my first time trying Ethiopian food and it was delicious! I got a combo platter with all of the veggie options. Everything on my plate was so flavorful and mouth watering good! I got half rice and half injera. I will defiantly be back to have more amazing food from here. Also the staff were all very helpful in helping me decide what to order and explaining the dishes. All around it was a great experience and I’m so happy Gursha is in Des Moines!

This was my first experience at an African restaurant. I visited with my cousin and neither of us knew what to order. Anita was so helpful by creating a plate for us to share that wasn’t too spicy and allowed us to sample several different items. I will feel confident returning here and bringing family and friends. Thanks so much Anita!
