Nice food, I had the pork dish which was more like a stew. Chow mein also good but the momos were not to my taste. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The sizzler dish and naan looked great. Slightly pricey though as vat is added to the bill later, menu price is exc vat if i remember correctly.

We went out for dinner to celebrate my sister’s birthday, hoping to find the familiar taste of home—and Gurkha truly delivered. The service was smooth and pleasant. A big thank you to the Nepali dai who gave us such a warm welcome and helped make my sister’s birthday feel so special.

Spirited Away

Went for a Nepalese dine-in experience in Hastings. The place is located along busy A259 road with on street parking which can be challenging to park but the place is along the seafront with spectacular view of the sea. The place is small but neat and cozy. The foods are great and deliciously made although the servings are minimal. I would suggest the Gurkha Mixed grill although they also have vegan and vegetarian options. It is still highly recommended for those who would love to try some authentic Nepalese cuisine.

The food was fresh and delicious!Momos were made fresh there and then. Also had the best mushroom rice I’ve ever had. Staff were lovely. Food took a while to come but I guess if everything is made from scratch that’s a small price to pay. Would go again next time I visit Hastings, highly recommended!

Nice tasty curries and great views of the seafront. Service fine. Draft beer not recommended, better to take bottled beer. For me, my curry was a bit sweet, makes me wonder if they add sugar which would be a shame. But nice evening, good food for reasonable prices.

Absolutely incredible food, top service from the waiters, very professional and hospitable. I would love to give the atmosphere 5 stars because of how impressed I was with everything else, but I truly wasn’t a fan of the music. My recommendation would be to have a variety of traditional Nepali songs, rather than what seemed like the same song on repeat..! However, table layout was beautiful. Definitely a place that cares about presentation, food and service. Thank you!

Sure Surf

Came here on my own while on holiday. Beautiful food full of flavour and not too expensive, and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The layout is clean and welcoming, it looks like it has been repainted and feels clean and fresh. It has music playing quietly from where I sat. Seemed to have a flow of customers that knew the staff so obviously regulars which is an encouraging sign.

We went to Gurkha chef on the off chance as we couldn’t find anywhere to eat.
They managed to squeeze us in between bookings and gave brilliant service despite not having a booking.
Food was delicious and the staff that served us were amazing.
Would highly recommend and definitely going back! 🙂

Great selection of food, generous portions, and the staff delivered great lunch service

Order from here a lot, the food is great and customer service is outstanding. I ordered during a large event in town through uber and when they couldn’t get a driver from uber eats due to road closures they sent it out through their own staff so we didn’t have to wait too long. Get kothe, absolutely delicious and the sauce is stunning! ❤️
