It’s just OK.
This place was recommended to me as a local favorite. I guess I might just be picky.
Food is not bad, not great, just meh.
The atmosphere is very “Hole-in-the-Wall” Mexican (Normally a great sign the food will be delicious). On the plus side, my food was served with the proper modifications. I really appreciate that.
The service was cordial but super disconnected. There were multiple people serving the 9 or so tables but no one seemed to understand what their coworkers were doing. One would set the table, the next would clear it 2 mins later. One employee sat me at a table and 2 mins later a different employee is trying to give me bill before I ordered.
Yiur experience may vary. My overall experience isn’t anything I would recommend as a local favorite to anyone.

Great building, man it’s beautiful such a great atmosphere. Staff so attentive. Food is decent go for corn tortillas over the flour.

I haven’t eaten here in years, but I remembered that I really enjoyed it, so I decided to take an out-of-town visiting friend. It wasn’t as wonderful as I remembered, but it was okay. I ordered the chicken enchiladas supreme. I prefer grilled chicken but settled for the shredded chicken, as that’s all they offered. It was tasty. My friend ordered steak, but it was really, very chewy. I was a little embarrassed because I really talked up this restaurant. The atmosphere is very authentically Mexican but very cramped and compact. The bathroom was a bit dirty. The courtyard was converted to be enclosed, which was cool, but the exit door was blocked by a stack of high chairs, which I thought was unsafe. One great thing I appreciated was that the food came very quickly. The chips and salsa was good, although the salsa was a bit on the hot side. I probably won’t be coming back anytime soon, but I’m open to it.

This restaurant got recommended on Reddit for having one of the best burritos in Fresno. So my husband and I both ordered an asada burrito with everything in it. They use handmade flour tortillas and the salsa is amazing. We’ll definitely be back to satisfy some cravings. The waiter was very friendly and was deserving of our tip. Thank you for the great food and hospitality. My burrito was so big I took half of it home and just ate it for lunch today.

Ok wow… I’ve lived in the Fresno area for about 7 years off and on… and this weekend was first time being here. This place was incredible. GREAT service. They were so quick, so friendly, and just very sweet. But the food??? THE FOOD??? Omg…. I haven’t had Mexican that good in years. I was truly blown away. The quality was wonderful. Everything fresh, homemade and cooked to perfection. My husband and I will DEFINITELY be back. I really did love it. Chips and salsa were great too.

Food was absolutely delicious and the service was spectacular. I was just a little sad they didn’t have chips and salsa made when we got there around 10am, they said they make it and have it done around 11am or noon. But other than that I enjoyed the traditional Mexican food I was served and will be back.

Great authentic, fresh food! We found this place on a whim traveling through the area and will definitely make it a destination place in the future. This place has a great family history so take the time to read it in their menu. The tortillas were fresh made, the shredded beef was flavorful and tender. The service was excellent, attentive, and personal, and still run by family.

I have visited this restaurant many times over the last 30+ years. Family owned and the service is always friendly.
Generally speaking the food is good. They do not serve chips and salsa with a meal, that is for breakfast at least, which is what I usually go for, but I’m sure it’s available at an extra charge.
They have a nice little outdoor dining area, which is where my friend and I had breakfast today. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the omelette he ordered. I however ordered Chile rellenos which were unfortunately over cooked and too salty. This has nixed the possibility of my ever ordering that dish there. Not suggesting that it should influence your choice of meal. It just is what it is. I have had chili rellenos there in the past that were quite good. One of the hallmarks, in my opinion, of a good eatery is consistency.

It was my first time here, i had chilaquiles with asada meat, it was delicious so flavorful, my partner had menudo, he loved it, the service great!
