I, along with three others had dinner at The Grind last evening. The food was excellent as it is always and the reception I get from Mallory and Laura makes me feel like a celebrity. I love the hugs Thanks Mallory for putting my drink in front of me before I even order it. We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning soon. xo

Super disappointed. My husband made reservations for us for valentines day. We get there and we’re sat but had to wait for a bit for our drinks to be taken. We’ve been here before quite a few times and I order the same thing every time. We ordered an app, which was fine. We ordered our meals, mine was the chicken with brie and when I tell you it tasted off, I cant even fully explain it. I had my husband try it just to make sure. The sauce seemed super oily when its normally a tad thicker/creamier. The chicken seemed like it was boiled and then grilled? Or oven cooked. It didnt taste good. My husband had the lamb and it was mainly all fat and over cooked, which quite literally made us think something major had changed here. Either the cooks or food supplier, something was definitely different. I barely ate any of my food and my husband left over half of his. I talked to our server and even asked if things had changed, she had said nothing had. I was honest and kind when I told her our food wasnt made right, especially mine. She said “we have to redeem ourselves somehow now” and then offered us dessert on the house- which was super nice but…we hadnt ate dinner, why would I want dessert?
We just asked for the bill and it was $115 for us to leave unsatisfied and hungry.
Really unfortunate and wont be returning.

Amazing food and service will go again! Recommend reservations as a small good vibe of a restaurant!

We all had great dishes:
Tuna poke bowl
Greek creamy salad
Eggplant lasagna
soup of the day: Chilli

Simply one of the best meals I have had in Sarnia in 34 years. Wonderful, intimate atmosphere. Caring and attentive staff. An incredible find. The menu ranges from comfort food to fine dining. We did fine dining and it did not disappoint. Will be back again soon.

Top notch place! If you are looking for a little spot that is different and has great views, you’ll find it here! The bar and atmosphere are fantastic!( a little loud ) but it is a great space.
The food is fresh and delicious as well. You can see the Chef’s hustling around in the kitchen and your drinks are made fresh in a cool surround bar.
The menu has a little something for everyone. It is a little pricey but again, it’s a bit more upscale than a lot of Sarnia’s restaurants.
The staff are great and work through the busy tables very efficiently. They have short tables tall tables and bar seating.
Go ahead and treat yourself!

A gorgeous location right on the river (with the option to dine on the patio). Modest food servings sizes were tasty and well presented; though I prefer a few more veggies. Service was friendly, though we were not sure who are server was because a few different people brought us food…. When we received our good half of our group needed to wait for their utensils as we were told “they are still in the dishwasher.” So we waited a couple minutes. We were with a group of 8 customers, but the pairs at either end could not hear each other because the restaurant is lively and noisy. A small irritation for a couple of us we needed to adjust our chairs to avoid hitting a wall ornament with our heads

The Grind has to be one of Sarnia’s most hidden secrets. For our wedding reception held on September 27, 2025, we used The Grind as our caterer. Melissa and team were OUTSTANDING! The food was extremely well received. The staff were absolutely professional and very friendly. Our evening went on without a hitch. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Grind for both, casual dining and catering. Once again, thank you so very much Melissa and team.

I was just at an event this evening at the gateway room, and it was being catered by the grind. One of the people in attendance required, an exception menu, and the meal that was created for them had been accidentally eaten. Once a team member from the grind found this out, they jumped into action and it was minutes. They had a special plate created for this individual so that it could be nourished while attending our meeting. I have always very pleased by the taste and quality of their food and their service. This was an example of hospitality. True hospitality. Good work the grind.

Our wedding day was PERFECT! The food was amazing – we did a buffet style and no one left hungry – we even took home tons of leftovers. The bar staff were great – friendly and professional. We had the best time. 100% would recommend using Grind – especially if your event is in the Gateway room but they also cater off site!

I enjoyed both meals I ordered for takeout from here! It was confusing to find how to enter this restaurant/bar when the main building is closed. Stood in what appeared to be the kitchen waiting for service. Super awkward set up but makes up for it with the food! Tried the lamb shank, and the surf and turf burger with a side soup, all very good! Packaged well for a Togo order too!
