My wife and I visited on a very cold Sunday evening, and we were greeted by Shadee with a very genuine, warm smile; both our dishes tasted excellent, food came out quickly, and very generous portions (we had leftovers for another meal): filter mignon hibachi (very tender and juicy) and tonkatsu (breaded thin pork cutlets), both with rice (fried and white), miso soup, salad, and veggies / fries, and oolong got tea. Unfortunately they were out of the cheesecake tempura dessert, so we will have to come again to try it!

I ordered the shrimp tempura roll and the unagi don. The shrimp tempura roll was ok. The unagi don dish was good flavor wise but the serving was smaller than expected. Ive had unagi don before from another local japanese restaurant. I know unagi (eel) is expensive, but this dish was significantly smaller than expected. There was more rice and avocado than there was unagi and sauce. Again, both the roll and unagi were good.

I had this place twice. The first time, the food was amazing!!! Of course I had to try it again, and the second time, it was just okay! For that, I give it a four. Both times we ordered take out and ordered the exact same thing:

Brenda our waitress was very nice. My husband loved the ginger dressing on the salad. I really liked the onion soup it was not overly salty like some I’ve tried. The food tasted fresh and we both walked out with full bellies. The volcano roll was a little spicy for me but was really good. The Alabama roll was huge! Definitely worth a try if you’re in the mood for Japanese. Also, they gave a military discount and we didn’t even ask!!

We had a late night date night and I wanted Sushi. Literally everything that I was familiar with was closed. I Goggled sushi and hit the 1st spot open. What a great decision. It looked like a whole in the wall but the place was super clean and the food was AMAZING!!! It was Bussin’! Osaka will certainly be my go to spot for sushi❣️

My daughter and I had a fantastic meal at Osaka Japanese Restaurant on Airport Boulevard, Mobile, Alabama.
We enjoyed Shumai as an appetizer, followed by fresh and delicious sushi rolls—Shrimp, Philadelphia, and Spider rolls. For dessert, the vanilla-flavored mochi ice cream was the perfect sweet treat. Our lemonade added a refreshing touch to the meal.
The taste was a solid 5/5, and the ambiance and service were outstanding. Highly recommend this spot for authentic Japanese cuisine!

We got 3 rolls (pyramid, golden dragon, butterfly), squid salad, tuna tataki, and soft shell crab. Everything was excellent!! Service was quick and friendly, food was fresh and amazingly delicious!

My sister and I went here to eat dinner and ordered salmon sashimi, steak hibachi, and edamame. Overall, the salmon sashimi and steak hibachi were decent, but the edamame was where it went wrong. As we were eating the edamame, my sister ate one and notice something off about it after putting it in her mouth and chewing it, she spit it out and opened it and saw some sort of bug/worm in it. She immediately felt sick and disgusted that something like that was in her mouth and/or near her mouth. We told the server and nothing was really done about the situation. I believe something should have been done about the situation because someone can seriously get sick. This is irresponsible and no one took responsibility or compensated us for the mistake that happened to our food. This is no way to run an establishment. My sister could not stop spitting stuff out because it is gross to find a bug in your food that you have been eating and who knows if it had been in any previous edamame that we have eaten. I then felt sick to think that I could have also eaten it as well unknowingly. This was my first time here and will be my last experience here.

went in around dinner time but thankfully didn’t have to face the rush. i think it was the owner who took our orders, he was really nice and patient with us. got their vegetarian lo mein and enjoyed every bite. the portion was a bit too much for me but it just meant we had more to take home. not pictured: miso soup and stir fried chicken udon.
