Winston Churchill attempts calculus. The beer wall has to go as the atmosphere was so swanky with high ceilings, great views of the fox theatre and knitting factory. Shout out to Sam for her amazing customer service at the front of house. The drinks are so muted and the bar left us wanting. But the kitchen was outstanding, what excellent command of seasoning and frying techniques. The burger was so pure and juicy and given the opportunity to shine. The dessert was masterful as well. The atmosphere and bar have room to improve but this was a great dining out experience.

Beer wall! Need I say more? Plus the cocktails are well crafted; you won’t go thirsty here.

The nachos are huge and worth sharing. I don’t think I’ve ever had white beans in my nachos, but they add a nice, creamy element.
The fish and chips have a good crunch and come with well seasoned fries and house made tartar, so I do think they’re some of the best in town.

It’s a fun spot downtown worth checking out!

I decided on a whim to go into Griffin Tavern and was so glad I did! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, a great place to meet friends or a place to stop for an after work beverage! The menu is well thought out with a nice selection of appetizers and entrees! Their craft cocktail menu offered nice twists on classic cocktails as well as some delicious house specialties with a great liquor selection. If cocktails aren’t your thing they have a fantastic beer selection and even offer a wrist band self pour option so you can pour by the ounce and try the different choices. The service stood out above all else, My server Rose was the best! Very friendly, attentive and professional! It’s easy to be stoked about this place and can’t wait to return!

My daughter and I had tickets to an event across the street at the Fox Theater that started at 7:30. I made a reservation for 5:45. The place was packed (highly recommend reservations)… the staff was in constant motion, the poor little hostess lady was also bussing tables. We got our little wristband card thingys for the beer wall (awesome idea btw) and poured ourselves a couple of beers. The waitress came and took our food order and after about 45 minutes (it was getting to be after 7:00 by this time) a nice waiter guy came and we asked him to check on our food. He apologized about the wait and brought our food out pretty quick. Didn’t really have time to eat it so we got a to go container, but the food was really good. I had the fish and chips, the fries there are fantastic. My daughter had the street tacos. He gave us a discount because of the wait time and we paid the check and left. Very hard working staff, doing the best they could with that kind of crowd. I’ll definitely go back and play with the beer wall again, what a concept!

Stopped into griffen tavern after a show. It was happy hour so we got a plate of nachos for $8. Great price for the portiin size! Also the first time i had a fried egg on top of nachos, it was good!

Inly suggestion would be add some games to the wall of books they have.

Absoloutly amazing place. Im not a fan of burger or flatbread but they were both phenomenal. Drinks were great. Got 15 percent off from staying at the hotel we were at.

Service was really good. Great waiter. What was really awesome was the nachos and the curry crusted white fish! Nachos were nothing like i had before 16th white beans and pulled pork, and it was so good together. It wasn’t soupy or gross, but just the right amount of toppings. YOU HAVE TO GET THE CURRY FISH. You won’t be disappointed. It was so good and just added to their menu. Honestly, did not expect this his of food there, but it ended up being the best spot where we are for the weekend. And you do have to order the Griffin cocktail. Very unique and tasty. I really enjoyed it. Great compliment to the dinner.

Beautifully designed and decorated space in the heart of downtown and close to multiple event venues.
Service – 5 stars for the waiter with excellent hair, 1 star for the girl who couldn’t be bothered. Sorry for the inconvenience!
The beer wall is neat, although lacking in cider options, there is also wine and a full bar.
For $16, I don’t want to wash down my pork tacos with icy tap water to avoid choking. I tried to soften them up with sour cream (none available) and settled for the teaspoon of salsa provided.
Next time I’ll make sure to eat first.

We are over from New Zealand and we were lucky enough to arrive on opening night. Staff were amazing and so helpful. They have this beer / wine wall which is super cool as you can try a little or a whole pint or wine. We did – great beer. Recommend the Porter and Batsquatch (if you like a hazy) we ordered some food – great – with a plus. Wings are popping (sauce – Buttery BBQ was awesome – should be bottled for sale) flatbreads crispy and nice, and the King Caesar salad great – good for 2 people. Really recommend- think next time we come, we will need to book as this place will be going off. As we say in New Zealand “ Banging”

Great first visit to Griffin! Better than our expectations. We ordered the caesar salad, chicken curry and lemon tart dessert. All were great and fresh. Chicken curry was unexpected option and we would definitely order again. We enioyed the drink options- cocktails, wines (some French, well done) and beer wall happy hour was a bonus. Inside is very well done. Great new spot.
