A lovely gem in the downtown area of Hancock. All of the food was homemade and very tasty. The most friendly and warm staff and had the best conversation with the owner of the restaurant. Will be back again. Homemade sausage gravy and the omelettes were delicious.

I recently visited the Griffin Family Cafe at 200 Michigan St #313 in Hancock, MI. I drove by the location once trying to find it. It’s inside the academic building located there. The atmosphere is like a typical hospital type cafeteria. I was greeted timely and got my coffee and went over the menu. My eggs and bacon and toast were all great and they did a great.job. well worth a visit

I had an amazing experience with Griffins Cafe and Catering. I ordered mini pasties to give to the Salvation Army Hancock team as a holiday gift, and the kindness I received was truly unexpected. The owner generously provided the order for free.

The staff was helpful and friendly, but we waited over an hour for our food (just pasties that needed to be warmed and a salad) and weren’t impressed with the pasties. The gluten free crust was very good, but the meat tasted like all pork, and the filling was very heavy on the meat. The gluten free cinnamon rolls were good. A cozy café with friendly service and a beautiful view of the Portage Canal! Incredible omelettes and the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had! They are giant and have baked cinnamon apples in the center of the roll! They also just started selling Pannukakku. I tried it and it is definitely the best in the Keweenaw! The flavorful raspberry topping pairs excellently with the super thick pancake slice. Perfect eggy texture and crispy golden crust make this the perfect hearty breakfast item!

Everytime we have eaten here or gotten food to go it has been amazing!! My husband especially loves their yooper plate breakfast and we absolutely love going in the evenings on Thursday and Friday for ice cream and snacks they have kid menus for the kiddos to color while waiting.
