My husband and I have been going here for years. We leave full and satisfied, very happy and excited to come back. I always get the beef brisket hot and sour soup and my husband gets the crispy duck. Both I highly recommend and I recommend coming to this place in general. Such a cozy authentic atmosphere and I always tell my friends and family about this place. I brought my Uncle here for his birthday and he was so happy and loved the food. I’ll always come here with new people or just to enjoy the food as always. Thank you!!!

It’s been awhile since we’ve ordered from green tea. They use spaghetti not lo mien! We also ordered Kong pao chicken and got shrimp instead, they repeated the order back to him when we placed the order. Unfortunately my husband did not catch it when he picked up and we were charged $25.95 for the dish. We live in three village and we used to frequent the restaurant, we will not be back.

I have been to this restaurant several times, and have to say the food improved throughout the years, however, the service is real not good. We went to dine in a mid-aged short haired waitress served us with just so so service. When we asked for check, she did not want to bring us the check and forced us to pay at the reception. What is more ridiculous is that after we paid the check with 15% tip (it’s a lunch with minimum service from her), the waitress asked for 22-25% tip reasoning that it was Chinese Lunar new year, and we had to pay her more to make her happy! How ridiculous it is! She won’t let us leave the reception and asked for cash payment for tips. We ended up giving her more cash as tips but left with very annoyed feelings. We reported to the owner of this restaurant that we were not well treated but the owner ignored us without saying anything. I will never ever go to this restaurant. If you want the food, order take out don’t let the below average service and overasked tip annoy you!

I went to the Green Tea Restaurant with a friend& sat down at a table. The waitress gave us a glass of water and menu’s, then walked away. My friend heard that they serve free oily peanuts when you sit down. We didn’t get any so my friend asked & the waitress made a face saying she forgot & brought them over. The area was dirty & the table top was sticky. I don’t think it was wiped down after the last patrons left. I mentioned it to the waitress who only smiled but didn’t wipe it down. It took a long time for the food to arrive & it wasnt prepared the way I asked – no spices. I had to ask for a knife and fork three times before she got them for me and took away the chopsticks. I don’t eat with chopsticks or use my fingers to eat. I felt uncomfortable & like I wasnt welcome there. Now here comes the best part. A different female walks over to our table with the bill. I take out my money to pay in cash and go to put it down in the tray she left on the table when she snatches it out of my hand and counts it. She asks if that was all she was getting. I said yes, it is the full cost of the meal and the tip. She’s now demanding a bigger tip. Was she for real? Then she starts banging her hand on the receipt showing she should get a bigger tip then I left. The service and atmosphere was poor. I never experienced a dinning experience like this before. My advice to anyone reading this; Stay away from The Green Tea Restaurant and go to McDonald’s instead. You will get better service. Two thumbs down.

Figured I would try this place as it’s close to my job, the food was OK, not great. The rice was good, the wonton soup was not what I expected, the wontons too soft, the broth was tasty. The Gen Tsos chicken was also tasty but bigger chunks, not crispy like I’m used to. The bill was also expensive, $35 for these 3 items, not much food. If the food was better I’d be more inclined to try more of the menu but I won’t be ordering again.

A small group of coworkers gathers at the Chinese tea restaurant that specializes in authentic Chinese cuisine. From the 495 freeway, it’s still a long drive to Stonybrook.

There’s enough space in the dining room for a small group and one large table for ten people. Parking is in the back, shared with two other restaurants.

At least eight dishes were ordered, including szechuan hot and spicy fish tofu, claypot fish, several cold dishes, and Yang Zhou fried rice. They’re all good, just like you’d expect from a Chinese restaurant in downtown Flushing.

If you’re craving Chinese food in Stonybrook. The green tea restaurant is definitely worth a try.

We had the fish fillet dried hot pot, Hongkong style stir fried flat noodles, fried chicken and garlic, and crystal shrimp dumplings. The waiting time was reasonable. When the food came out, it literally came straight out of the wok. It was made to order and the food taste fresh and hot! They were delicious. The staff were very friendly as well.

The Food was bland and the service was alright but seemed very fake, as in there was certain expectations in place for you to spend more money. You could feel the judgement if you didn’t order enough, they would ask you “are you sure? That’s not enough for 2” or something along the lines. At the end of the meal they would also specify “you can pay here and choose the tip” as they watch you press how much tip you want to give. Made me feel very uncomfortable. If you press skip, they would go “aww but you didn’t give any tip yet” and really push for you to give a tip, which is so off putting. Under all that pressure, I gave them a cash tip. But it was just overall an uncomfortable experience.

I’ve ordered from here a few times and I always really enjoy it. The ingredients are fresh and the food is never heavy or greasy. They also do a great job of accommodating allergies.
