Good little Greek shop. Food we sampled: was, chicken gyro, tomato cucumber salad, spinach pie, and baklava and custard dessert. It’s too bad they did not have Lamb on the menu. The chicken gyro was okay, but not spectacular, everything else was good especially the desserts. Room for improvement:, Tzatziki, Just lacked the garlic lemon dill flavor.

I have drove passed this new spot in town a couple times before stopping. I decided to come for some pita and hummus but to my surprise they didn’t have this as an option. :/

To be fair I don’t rate a restaurants food until after I try several menu items. So that tells you I’ll be back. They have 2 more stars to earn! The restaurant was clean, and the staff on point. I had George’s Authentic with a twist. I wanted half lamb and half pork. They accommodated me no problem. I think it was a mixed meat lamb/beef roast and pork actually. Whatever it was it was a flavorful combination. They may want to add it to the menu. Now the critique. The gyro was a tad bit dry, but in a well done grilled meat crispy bits sort of way. The roast(s) appeared to be fairly lean. In my travels I’ve seen fat layered with the lean, because there’s more flavor in the fat, and it basted the meat. Chalk it up to the US fat phobia. I like a bit more sauce on a gyro, which I’ll ask for next time. I expect a gyro to be a little messy, like lots of things in life. Perhaps chopping the tomatoes finer, spreading them out will add more moisture. The bigger pieces of sweet red onion go well with the tzatziki. Dragging the sliced meats through the spit roaster drippings wouldn’t have hurt. Like they do with gyros in Bangkok’s Little Arabia, where they’re known as kabob’s, spit roasted shaved meat, not skewered (never pork). Looking forward to my next visit. The baklava looks really good.

It is nice having Greek food in the Lakeside neighborhood. I had their “American Style” gyro, and it was really good. The lamb and beef mix shaved from the spit along with the tatziki is so flavourful. I will be coming back for another one of those gyros and maybe some of their delicious looking baklava.
