First Time Alert!! This place has it All! Great location in Downtown Detroit, (Greektown) indoor/Outdoor seating, Gourmet Burgers and Pizza! Combine also a Friendly Staff & and Cute/chill Vibe and you have the Perfect location for Date Night! Ladies Night, friends Meet Up etc etc.. we had a Large Party! Restaurant decor and look is top tier, our server was good and seated us quickly. A couple things I noticed right away under staffed, didn’t get menus, or utensils until we asked. Was over charged for drinks and when we asked manager/bartender she asked did we drink them, ( with a bit of attitude) my husband replied yes, and stated the menu showed a different price for drinks, she proceeds to overtalk him and says restaurants change prices of drinks all the time… which in when I stepped in because I don’t want my husband raising his voice towards a woman.. I tell her the menu code we scanned was from our waiter and the menu showed $10 for the drink we chose, she says she can’t change price and walks off and says someone else had to do it. I was so confused by her quick attitude for an error that was not our fault, the Chef and owner I presume came and corrected issue and we paid and tipped our waiter… I’m all for supporting black owned business but I will not be made to pay a price I did not see on menu or told would be priced differently. I hope whomever the bartender is really gets her attitude under control and get some better customer service skills because my husband was 2 seconds from walking out and not paying anything and the ONLY reason he didn’t was because it was a BOB and we didn’t want our waiter to have to pay out our tab. Do better! I chose to post on here rather than to broadcast on social media

Hey Y’all, I need you to hear bout my experience here at the Great Lakes Burger & Pizza. I discovered this place w/ my Momma & SIL on our way to see Nate Jackson @ the Detroit Comedy Club. Even though it was crazy busy, cuz St. Patty’s day weekend, we were blown away by our experience. So when my bestie flew in from OKC for a visit, I knew we had to go directly to GLB&P, from the airport. Not only is the environment the most delightful & chill vibe, the entire staff was so inviting & helpful. We were there during a slower peak in the day which afforded us lovely & enjoyable conversation w/ our server ‘Money’ as well as a few other members of staff. After visiting a little with this well curated staff, I definitely understood why this place had some of the highest ratings in Detroit. Its not just about the food & the ambiance, the staff put this place on the map. Furthermore, lets discuss the cuisine. Now listen, I need you to know my friend & I, we Big Gurls for a Reason. We Love Food, So what did we do?, Yes, we ordered many items from the menu. With some fabulous recommendations from staff, Thanks Y’all, I knew I wanted me & my bestie to try all the best things. (Dont worry, leftovers were much appreciated at home.) Anyhow, there was not one item that did not make our audible enjoyment known. Not in the Meg Ryan way, just in a Holy Cow, this is so damn good, holy shisa, try this…omg, what’s this sauce, kinda way. Everything & I do mean everything was beyond expectation. We had the best time & have deemed this our spot everytime she flys in. I hope our pics do it justice but if y’all are in Detroit for any reason, do yourself a favor & dine in with these beautiful people, enjoy the vibe, & eat this cuisine in its intended environment.

Food was . I had the gourmet seafood surf n turf burger (w/shrimp n lobster bites) and onion rings.. Wife had pizza, with all turkey and beef items.. They are turkey and beef friendly. We will definitely be back.. Last be not least, it’s #BlackOwned.. Real nice vibe!!

The staff was very friendly. I like that the manager stops by to check on your service your receiving. The experiences that I’ve encountered at some Black owned establishments has not been customer friendly. I like that every employee spoke to you as they were walking by or just asked if you need anything, there service alone makes me want to go back plus that pizza. No smart mouth attitudes, no foul loud language being spoken between the staff they are on point.

I Will Definitely Be Back! Let Me Start With Our Waitress Ari, She Was Everything!! Very Helpful And Very Patient! The Drinks Were Just Okay, The Sex On The Beach Lacked Alcohol And The Tequila Sunrise Had Enough Alcohol But Was A Bit Bitter. Now The Food??? The Food Was Amazing!!! That Turkey Burger Taste Like A Homemade Burger Yo Mama Made! And The Pizza Was Soooo Flavorful! I Got Half Pepperoni, Pineapples, Honey, And Half Filet Mignon, Spinach, And Alfredo Sauce.
